I've worked for the Water Dept in Jacksonville Florida since 1985.The utilitie I work for supplies the Water WasteWater and Electricity for the entire city. I started a week after I turned 19 on the water side of the company. It's been a blast. Always something different. Repairing water main breaks, replacing fire hydrants or broken valves. I absolutely have loved my job for the past 25 years. Sometimes it seems like I've only worked here a little while, then I think of all the old timers that have retired. When I started working on water service leaks we were still using some copper tubing, we were just starting to phase in polybutylene and pvc. Damn I feel old now. The last 3 years I have been an Emergency Dispatcher, so it's always 73f and no more muddy shovel.
