Thats always a fun game. In college we used to take a chug of beer instead of money, every 50 bucks was a drink every time you had to pay you round up to the next 50 that way when the price was only like $8 you round up to the next 50 so they had to drink. Trade negotiations sometimes turned into major arguments but in good fun, I don't remember us ever finishing a game. Hit free parking and you can designate a drink to someone. You get chicks involved and they had the option of removing an article of clothing to take care of rent, it was rare that you saw bare tit unless you had the designated sorority sluts play but it was fun.

Been getting back into chess lately, I haven't played in a long time and I suck real bad.

My dad slaughters us all at Risk. It actually is quite embarrassing... It's fun, but he just slays at the game...

I imagine 31 is what we call SCAT. You try to get as close to 31 (Ace & 2 face cards or 10 of the same suit) before anyone else does?

I like Scrabble too. I play it on my phone when bored. ripprobie is my username if anyone wants to get schooled. I play on the Scrabble free ap.

Yup! And you can "knock" before getting 31 if you think you got more than anybody else.

Played a bit of Settlers of Catan this weekend. My friend got the 5-6 player expansion pack for the basic version. Plus he has the Cities and Knights version as well, which is a cool variation.

A favorite dice game from back home is LRC, or Left Right Center. Put $3 in, roll 3 dice then you pass your money in any direction the dice say, or even hold onto it. You roll as long as you have money in front of you, and the last person remaining wins the pot.

Best drinking game is Azzhole. Especially when you can start making rules.

Just learned this recently at the golf course, fun game especially if you have 10-12 people playing

Crib is great. Except I hate playing when other people can steal the points you missed counting. Cause I'm usually drinking when I play and tend to do that quite a bit and I ain't quick enough to check my opponents score when they lay their hand down so I don't bother. For cards I also like some of the basic games like Hearts, 31, War, Go Fish, Crazy 8's Countdown. never really figured out Euchre but some of the guys used to play that on the bus lots in my jr hockey days.

Played hold 'em poker a bit years ago but that game is honestly boring as hell. I don't mind playing one game but everyone expects you to play like 4 games each time you sit down and I just don't have the attention span.

For board games I like Trivial Pursuit cause I'm a bit of a trivia guy, Scrabbles ok, hate monopoly, Clue was fun as a kid rummoli too.

Played Catch Phrase about a month ago for the first time while drinking at a buddies and that was pretty fun.

Please explain this more because the dice I have don't talk to me . Sounds like fun though.

One of my college roommates taught us a game his family calls 13. Simply because each of the four players has 13 cards. There might be another name for it. Everyone I've taught the game to thinks it's so confusing at first until we play a couple rounds, then they're hooked. I'll try to explain it as simply as I can.

• Cards are shuffled and dealt, 13 apiece.
• Cards are ranked in order, from lowest to highest, by number: 3-K, then Ace, and 2 is the HIGHEST; and by suit: Clubs, Spades, Hearts, Diamonds. Easy to remember because the club is the smallest symbol and diamonds are high in value.
• The goal is to get rid of all your cards. The game continues until only one person still has cards. The last person with cards loses the game.
• The game is based on starting a pattern, and beating that pattern as you go around the table with either a higher suit or number.
• Person with the 3 of clubs, the lowest ranked card in the game, starts.
• The pattern can be anything: you can lay down just the 3 of clubs, or a pair of 3s, or a 3 thru 9 7-card straight. It doesn't matter, as long as the 3 of clubs starts it.
• The next person has to beat the previous person's draw. If the game starts with the 3 of clubs, you can put down the 3 of spades, or a 6 of whatever, an Ace, etc. Then the next person has to beat that, and so on.
• If the pattern involves multiple cards, like a three card straight, only the end card has to beat the pattern. For instance, if the first person puts down 3, 4, 5 spades, you can put down 3, 4, 5 hearts. Obviously, a 9, 10, J straight beats it altogether.
• If you can't beat the pattern on the table, or want to save your cards, pass. Even the person who started the pattern has to pass if he can beat it. The "round" ends two ways:
1) Everyone passes, meaning the last person standing starts a new pattern of whatever he wants.
2) Some puts down a 2. The 2 is the bomb card. The bomb is used to stop the current pattern. You use it to stop patterns you can't beat. If someone put down three 7s and you can't beat that, put down a 2. The only way to beat the bomb is if anyone has a higher 2 they want to use, or a paired three-card straight (ex. 66, 77, 88). If someone can beat the bomb, they start the next pattern. If no one beats the bomb, the bomber starts.

It sounds like a lot to keep track of, but it really isn't. Not any more than any other game I've played anyway. People always give me the same looks I gave my roommate when he explained it to us, but everyone always ends up loving it. It gets pretty competitive and intense. It's a great party game too. Better than a game like Kings for instance, which is great but involves too many people so eventually half of them stop paying attention and the game takes FOREVER or stops being fun.
This sounds almost identical to a game I have called asshole with the exception of straits. In asshole the only way to play multiple cards is to have the same card in different suits, or if say someone lays down a 2 with a pair of something else. There is also a variation where the one eyed Jack beats the 2.

LOL I understand the confusion.

I'm trying to remember the dice but I cant right now, I will and revisit with more.

Anyway, you roll and if the dice comes up where you put one in the middle that dollar is actually gone from the game, the middle is the dead zone, once a buck gets there it's literally out of play. With each roll you may have to put a dollar in the middle, to the right or to the left. Even if you're out of dollars you're not out because of someone on either side of you rolls there's a chance they'll have to put a dollar in front of you. Once the dollars to the right and left are gone and they're all in the middle whoever rolls and keeps their dollar or so they win the game. It can last 5 min or an hour. After two or three games with $1 bills we start playing with $5 bills, then $10 so it gets rich quick.

You can play with three or four people and it'll be fun.

I have played with people who say it reminds them of asshole. I like this game better because there's more variation and you can really screw someone over.

Ahh ok. The part I was missing was that these are special directional dice and not traditional 1-6 dice. Makes sense now. I can see how the stakes can rise quick, especially if the players are drinking. I'm a gambling man and will definitely have to get some dice and play this with the buds.

Haha! If you drink enough, even the dice start talking.

Each dice has an 'L' for Left, 'R' for Right and 'C' for Center. The other 3 sides have a dot which means that you hold onto your chip. When you roll an L or R, you pass your money or chips to the person in that direction. If you roll a C you put your chip in the pot. The last player with money in front of them wins the pot.

It can be pretty fun and an easy way to lose 3 bucks or win 15. It depends on how many people you play with.

Any one ever played liars poker with dollar bills? You use the serial numbers on the bills...1's are aces up to 9's. You start off by saying like...I have 3... 5's...or some other number. Then the next will say I have 4... 5's and so on. when you feel they are lying then you call and add the numbers on both bills to determine the total number...if you call and find a lie then you win the bill or if they aren't lying you lose your bill.
