Today is supposed to be the hottest of the year so far , they are calling for highs of 38c/100f with the humidex hitting 46c/114f , I have to go out in that , no choice , on the bright side we are going to get thunderstorms by this evening , that will cool everything down ..

We got hit real hard with the thunderstorms last evening , they hit around 5 pm taking down trees and turning over some new trailers that weighed in the neighbourhood of 8000 pounds , some hydro lines where down that has left some places without hydro until they get the trees removed .
On the bright side , the humidity is gone , the temp for today is going to be a comfortable 26c/78f , can live with that ..

On June 30 will be the 100 year anniversary of the Regina Cyclone, as it's been dubbed.

http://cjme.com/story/video100-years...-minutes/63036

There is a video at the end of the write up.

Tomorrow there is supposed to be wicked weather around the Moose jaw/ Regina area.

Greg Johnson out of Regina chases storms and streams his chases... I've checked out a few. Pretty entertaining.

Tornado watches and warnings all over Saskatchewan. Last night a few cities got nasty weather.

We are in for it today...

The weather this week has been great except for some thunderstorms we had at night , the daytime temp has been in the 25c/77f range while at night it has cooled down to 13c/55f .
The heat is supposed to be back starting tomorrow , just have to wait and see ..

Well here we go again with another heat wave , they are forecasting temps above 30c for the next four days , today it will be real hot , 33c/91f with a humidex reading of 44c making it feel like 111f , guess we are in for the hottest summer ever recorded , they have broke thousands of records in the USA already and more will fall every day ....

Been an odd one here over the past couple of days, had some warm air move in from the south which led to an unbearably humid day yesterday in combination with temperatures in the mid-80s. That's normal (or can be) for this time of year, however:-

A strong cold front moved across the UK today - part of a system containing the remnants of hurricane Chris from last week - spawning some real intense thunderstorms which have caused flooding in parts of the country.. both of the main rail links between Scotland and England have been cut due to landslides, which they reckon may not be cleared by tomorrow morning rush-hour. Apparently hail approaching golf-ball sized was dumped in the Birmingham area, with Newcastle, some 250 miles to the north-east, being badly flooded by the same system as it moved out to sea.

We avoided the worst of it as it skirted to the north of us, had a pretty intense downpour but it passed quite quickly..

Forecast for the next few days is back to what weve been having pretty much all summer here, which is unsettled - some short sunny spells mixed with rain, with plenty of cloud inbetween and temperatures struggling to get out of the mid-high 60s.

It all looked so promising a couple of months back when it wasn't far off getting into the high 80s with wall-to-wall sunshine, sustained over a few weeks.. I want them days back

Took my daughter grocery shopping yesterday , just for the hell of it she tried frying an egg on the hood of my SUV , it took about 4 minutes but it fried , had a he!! of a time getting it off the hood , had too use a pressure washer , if you try this use a bit of cooking oil first , it could save you a lot of work trying to clean up the mess ..

Footage has been sent in of a tornado which touched down about 80-100 miles to the east of here yesterday during the storms, experts reckon it was around EF2 in strength.. it touched down in a (by our standards) very sparsely-populated, rural area however so no reports of injuries or fatalities.
