The Flag does not wave because the wind moves past it...

It waves from the last breath of each military member who has died protecting it.

Well said, Killah.

It matters not if Canadian or American. If it is called Veterans Day or Remembrance Day. What matters is that you honor those who have served and those who have died.

They don't make the policies or the decisions to go to war. That is above their pay grade. They are the ones who choose to defend their country.

Their are so many soldiers that live with the every day trauma of not being able to walk , or have the use of their arms because they are gone .
So many of our young men and women that paid the price of being wounded , loosing limbs , some paralyzed for life , some maimed so bad their parents dont recognize them anymore .
These young wounded men and women have to fight their government for the small amount of benefits they are entitled to , some are even denied the medical rehab they need to just get around like you and me that take our every day existence for granted .
They fought for our freedom and the freedom of others , they should not be pushed on the back burner , we should now be fighting for them the same way they fought for us .
But we the general public just dont know the troubles these heroes of our country have to endure just to get the benefit money they deserve , the general public is kept in the dark about such matters by our government , nice way to treat our wounded vets , but it goes on every day .

They say "LEST WE FORGET" !! The wounded are are always the Forgotten ones , the dead dont have to live with the trauma of memories like they do , we always remember the fallen and forget those that gave just as much but have to live with the injuries of war ..

Very true. It's not just physical injuries endured by these veterans either many of the mental issues associated with PTSD is worse then any physical injury.

Many of you are descended from those who did serve - take the time to honor and remember that sacrifice and honor their memories. Who knows where you'd be without them? I don't think it's asking that much, I will be doing so proudly.
And thank you for starting this thread. It was on track until the wannabe subversive types (you know who you are) had to chime in with their standard responses.

What was "Like 9/11"? That was NOT an attack from anyone, but the USA... and most certainly not an attack from an enemy... and if you can't see that by now... well... I guess our conversation is over...

Oh, and it was not my country attacking itself... So I am so not taking up any arms for your Country's idiocy.

Remembrance day in Canada is huge compared to veteren's day here. You would think it would be opposite with all the rah rah horseshiit surrounding the military here.

I can't outright disagree because I've never spent November 11 in Canada, but it's easy to say it's bigger in Canada...they spend over a week on it.

Dude. Take it to another thread. Seriously, you are totally free to make another thread. You may even have some good points but this isn't the forum. If you weren't free to make another thread discussing this then I would say go hard but you can, so don't.

Regardless of the attacks and where they came from it doesn't change what soldiers are willing to do for you.

Why would I make another thread when I was asked about 9/11 in this thread? It has everything to do with why these kids are going over seas to die and become murderers... EVERYTHING to do with it and this thread...

Did you just not quite comprehend what I was saying?

These kids are being duped to start wars around the world for no reason at all... or at least NOT the reasons Governemnts are telling...

I'll say it again... If you are not outraged you are not paying attention!

First off, moron, if you knew anything about me you would know what I believe on 9/11.

Second off, moron, you have to be the bigger person. People want to believe what they want about 9/11 and that's fine, that doesn't mean we have to totally steer a thread meant to honour the troops awry.

Third off, moron, this thread is about honouring troops or their willingness to sacrifice their lives for our freedom. You don't HAVE to take every oppurtunity to espouse your beliefs. You can't even temper your opinions in this thread to include ANYTHING soldiers have done?

Fourth off, moron, you're a moron.

Like I have previously stated, there has to be some sort of gratitute towards the troops. That doesn't mean you can't questions a country's motive and not agree with the wars.

It's called being a reasonable person.
