Exactly. Everyone I came across knows and will speak English well enough, but all the signs are in French. It only became a real issue when I was in Montreal. I was on a Metro train that sat in a station for 15 minutes and all of the announcements were in French. I had to ask someone what was going on.

It's not all pink, numbers say we are getting assimilated and some pressed the panic button. We do see what happened with the Bretons in France in only 100 years, they went from all speaking Breton to no one speaking the language. Assimilation is fast. Look at the Irish who now all speak English, or the Scottish. It would be cool to have both languages getting along together but it can't happen, by the only fact that anglo-canadians are annoyed by the French who trying to protect their language. Anglo-Canadians in general are just wishing we would stop speaking the language. Last edited by fcm; 08-19-2012 at 03:02 PM. |

#1, Montreal isn't the capital city of the province. It's Quebec City that is. #2, Guys never kiss each other but if they're gay, it's only woman-woman or woman-man that do it. |
