Fishing Trips, Great Catch's & Locations

Last weekend my Pops and I drove down to the FL Keys for a short fishing trip and a stay at a nice (Comp'd) resort. If you ever get down there, look up Hawk's Cay. Awesome!

Well while i've fished down in the Keys before, this time we set to out to do some at Duck Key as opposed to the more popular Islamorada.

When going down there, our goal was not spend as much money as in years past. Meaning, no boat, no guide, no nothing. So ultimately we just set up underneath a bridge, in an around some mangroves and open water. All things considered, a great location for fish traffic (and of all kinds).

Long story short, we caught a ton of Grouper, Snapper, Flounder, ect. We even had a gigantic, huge Jewfish pass by us on its way out to sea. Just amazing, as you'd imagine (considering it was only a few inches from where i was standing, and that it was in such shallow water).

...

I would put up pics of all this, though after the Gretzky's daughter thread, i think i'll be withholding

The last time i went fishing was in my friends living room, we got some rods out, the fish tank right in front of us, and plenty of beers. True story and i am serious.

You've posted a pic of yourself before no harm in another one

The picture on my wall was taken during one of our trips to Boca Grande to Tarpin Fish. Talking about total control chaos, that's the craziest fishing I'd ever seen!

I found a video that shows it better than I can describe it, especially how close all the boats are together and the SHARKS! Give it a few minutes and you'll see what I mean about both.

(During the tarpin rodeo the MC of the event literally walks from boat to boat!)

TARPON FISHING, BOCA GRANDE FLORIDA, CHARTER...

We are heading to Yellowstone Park on Memorial Day for the opening weekend of fishing in the Park. Going to fish the Madison and Firehole rivers, fly fishing only rivers BTW. Should be a great time. have fished quite a bit in the park and there is almost never anyone else fishing near you. Most people go there to look at the sights. I go there to haul in some real nice trout.

Will post some pics when I get back.

Pilotsfan- I attended some of the Tarpon Rodeos when i lived in Louisiana and they are a sight to behold. Kind of a controlled chaos and one hell of a party as well. If any of youy ever get the chance to attend one I would highly recommend.
