It has been quite the pathetic year around here with the normal jokers (I say that with the utmost respect for what they bring) hardly even trying anymore. Apathy finally, got 1% of the real life they lie about, or the lockout; you decide. But either way the site has suffered immensely. Then the regular crowd I enjoy has also dispersed for various reason. And also the lockout has in fact directly affected the "seasonal" posters I also enjoy. Just a rough year all around. I will however attempt this nonetheless...

Poster(s) of the sad year; canuck2 and smashem. canuck2 is the one exception to my complaint about the "normal jokers", he's always been consistent. Then the legend of smashem has established itself as "here to stay" and is always entertaining. Haters follow him around as much as they did some of the all time greats.

Rookie of the year; I really don't know of any 2012 regulars. NJDevils17. Wait, if "stevens lindros" is a 2012 rookie I'd like to award him in the hopes it keeps him from murdering anybody IRL.

Drunkard(s); It'd be inappropriate to crown myself, and I already threw smashem the big one so, Humpzilla and pigfarmer step on up! This one is on me.

Old-Timer; Always Maggie.

Funniest(esesessss's); Mr. Pink is the closest to my sense of *internet* humor, then B*O (when he doesn't try TOO hard) is the most genuinely funny guy here, and also some love for the highbrow humorist antonio106.

Best foreign poster; Sputnik counts right? Also, my favorite feller of trees in the whole gosh dern wide world acdcrocksno1.

Most knowledgeable when it comes to hockey fights; Anybody who unbiased-ly breaks down North American professional fights. So basically a whole lot of none of you this year.

Most insightful; ValJamesRules, anybody with a wood burning stove has to know a thing or two about a thing or two (even if he hates kitty cats).

Best Mod; Do they even exist at this point? I can't remember the last public display of omnipotence. Best fake mod is NJDevils17 though.

Biggest contributor; None (...in my little universe). I appreciate that a lot of hard work goes in to getting info/media from non-NHL leagues and I appreciate there is a fan base for that and I'm aware that plenty of hard work is still being done 'round these her parts. But, I have zero interest in it aside from a random KHL bout or two. Keep on truckin' though!

King of Irritation(?); Ummm I guess GTrain15 bothers me since I told him to end the lockout and he hasn't. Which for the record I'm fine with now. Go ahead and just crumble the league entirely, I want a new Pro NA league. *choochoo*

And that'll do for now, I'm actually too lazy to make up my own awards this year.

These are based on a Year Without Hockey so, lots of this is from time spent in politics and babblin'...

Poster(s) of the year; Jack Schitt. Don't particularly agree with him on most subjects and have flamed back and forth a few times but... He posts consistently and doesn't look to start sh*t or take sides just to start trouble.

Thread of the year;Habs vs Bruins: A Retrospective. Started off a winner (a few Whiners killed it). Even though My B's were on the receiving end it was funny.

Rookie of the year; Cookie Monster. No doubt, unless he's not actually a rookie. Smart kid, posts great stuff whether you agree with it or not.

Drunkard(s); Don't care to comment because my good friend is dying of cirrhosis right now.

Old-Timer; Maggie is the best, poor BigJack had an coronary after November.

Funniest; Can never go wrong with Kidd Yidd. (I'm just copying everyone from past years)

Best foreign poster; One of those British guys.

Most knowledgeable when it comes to hockey fights; Not too important anymore. The old time stuff is getting to be ancient history and the role has changed so much it's an evolving situation.

Most insightful; Pesadillamal. Posts like a guy who is confident in his opinions, not trying to change your mind and seems pretty rational.
