Hello everyone,

A couple friends and I recently launched a website. It's called Seriousfiver and is a source for humour, girls and other viral media. We update it daily with albums and videos so if you're ever bored at work or whenever take some time to check it out! I hope that we can make you laugh or enjoy some gorgeous ladies. Maybe it will keep some of you entertained with the lack of a hockey season.

You gonna do t-shirts like the chive? or would that be ripping it off too much?

i hope it works out as a good competitor to the chive though.

Yeah cause the Chive was the first one to develop one of these sites.

We have some plans of doing shirts in the future if the sites starts to make us some sort of income but right now everything is coming out of our own pockets. Merch is definitely something we'd like to get into though.

Haha we've heard lots of hate from Chivers already for "copying" that site but like Killah said, they weren't the one to make a site like ours. We're not trying to directly compete with them cause as of right now they would crush us! We're just providing everyone with a place to find stuff that is a little more "edgy" than the Chive aka naked women.

Glad you guys are enjoying it so far, we're working hard right now to keep it updated a few times per day. It's tough when each of us have full-time day jobs though, hopefully the work will start to pay off one day. Till then keep enjoying the site!

Don't quit said day jobs. Keep it a hobby and have fun with it!

There's gonna be complaints, copyrighted media accusations, and more "fun" in the future if traffic ever increases. And if you're all stressed out trying to make a buck or two out of it, you'll be losing it even more.

Not my cup of tea but there's an audience out there. Good luck!

Its actually not too bad. It is very Chive-esque, but their site has been bogged down by all the ads they put on their that it is becoming a nightmare to scroll through. Your site is much more fluid as of now.

Thanks for the support guys. Yea the site is very similar to the Chive which is no coincidence, we modeled our site based on theirs due to the success their blog style format has had. Right now the content is quite similar as well but we're making up some ideas to set us apart and aim at a different audience rather than the frat-boy crowd the Chive seems to attract.

Our site started because each of us (Con, Cory and I) all ran blogs where we just uploaded funny pictures and videos for our friends then we just decided to make a more official site. Right now we're keeping it ad-free cause like you said the Chive is getting super annoying with the number of ads they've got going on there! Good for them though, they are probably making bank!

I do have a little bit of bad news for all you who have been enjoying the site so far...we are going to be shying away from all the nudity we've been posting. Mainly based on fear from getting into legal trouble (we're all broke and can't afford something like that) and the fact we have been getting some hate from family and friends. We all have lives outside the site and none of us want to be known as "the pervy guy who runs that porn site."

I guess that just means we'll be focusing more on funny stuff and SFW girl posts. We're trying our best to find content outside of what the Chive has posted but those guys are so damn quick snatching up all the good stuff! Oh well though, there is lots of internet to go around! Hope you guys keep enjoying the site and we'll be working hard to keep it updated everyday. Thanks again for checking it out!

Ha the name actually comes from Fubar. It's the part where they're camping and the boys tell Farell to take a "serious fiver" when he gets too drunk and is acting crazy. Pretty much it just means taking a good break when things are getting stressful.

So for this month we got a contest going for Movember. All you gotta do is submit a flick of your stache and you get the chance to win $50! At the end of the month a winner will be chosen (based of votes from users of the site) and wins the big prize...sorry it couldn't be bigger but as you guys know were funding all of this out of our own pockets.
