Mental Bullies strike again
It's all over the news up here, IDK how it is down on the U.S. side.

Kids are not softer these days. That's such an uniformed and judgmental view of things. And it makes stories like these easy to digest. And it is also borderline blaming the victim. It's just that kids experience bullying both at home thanks to the internet, along with at school. So they can't get away with it and are forced to experience it all the time, instead of back in the day in which once they are home, they were no longer exposed to bullies at school.
Plus bullying is now on front page news so it seems to be a bigger deal now then it used to be. Back in the 80s, it was okay to call the gay kid the fa word. Or to call the developmentally disabled person the R word. Now we know better, and we know it's never okay to do that. Also, the lack of updating anti bullying laws to reflect the times and anti bullying programs also is contributing to the problem. Thankfully, we now know today that bullying it is one of the most serious debilitating issues facing school aged children today, and I am very glad that there is increased and serious efforts to combat it. I'm not blaming the victim, it is ****ed up how serious it is with kids committing suicide over it, and I think bullies should be seriously punished. But they are softer these days if they let some **** wad on the internet get in their head. Whatever, it’s pretty sad how out of hand it has gotten in some schools. I don't understand, when did it get so out of hand? Bullies got their asses kicked back in the 70’s and 80’s now they seem to run **** and really **** up other kids in the head pretty bad without fear of retribution. |

and you know what's sad? a bunch of idiot teens think it's funny.....
you know the app called "iFunny"? well a guy posted a picture of him "drinking" the bleach and added a caption "Am I Amanda Todd, yet? LOL" Many people thought it's pretty funny and even said Amanda is a wuss, etc etc. I couldn't believe what I was reading in the comments. Teenagers today pissed me off. Absolutely no remorse or whatever. |

Whats really amazing is what people believe as soon as the read something or watch a video on the internet. I saw the article/video and it seemed really stupid and slightly unbelievable.
Why would cops show up at 4 am to tell a girl that a picture of her boobs were sent to everyone and how would they even know who she was. Then the guy made a new profile with her boobs as the picture, which would not last long as it would be taken down on facebook. And you wouldn't lose all your friends if they saw a picture of your boobs. Then she knowingly sleeps with a guy who has a girlfriend and doesn't expect to get confronted...Her whole story seems weird. There was a story recently at MSU where a kid got beat up at a party and claimed it was a hate crime because he was Jewish. The internet blew up supporting this kid and standing up against hate crimes etc. Turns out after the police investigated, he was groping girls against their will and get punched in the mouth after being told to stop several times. The internet has made bullying easier for the cowardly. As a parent of both boys and girls, we talk about this type of thing frequently. There are anti-bullying assemblies in school on almost a weekly basis. The repercussions of sending pics etc are endless. You can't stop a rung bell. Once the cat was out of the bag so to speak she should have just "owned" it. Once they think it doesn't bother you anymore they will move on to someone else. Maybe it was just her perception and insecurity, but any "friend" who would abandon her because of this was no "friend" at all. Things like this are happening way to much.

Admittedly I only made it through half her video. It took too long to flip the cards. She gave like 10 seconds a card and I got bored.

Its a sad thing, for sure, but I think this "killing yourself cause of a bully" is a bit deeper.
I got bullied as a kid in school. I didn't think anything of it, and certainly didn't want to kill myself over it. I think these kids who are being bullied should start thinking about what they can do for themselves. It's just a matter of survival, not ending it all cause of some nastiness. It happens. All in all, it's super sad and moreso, preventable...
