Then the next day she brings a friggin dead rabbit in the house, and politely places it on my slippers next to the bed, so when I wake up I step on a bloody rabbit.

It was a collage project to make a film that would give the students high marks , their project achieved it's purpose ..

I only heard about the video on CNN this morning when they were interviewing the kids who made it. It does look real though, they did a good job. I guess people started slow-mo'ing it and noticed there is a single frame where the eagle only has one wing, and I guess the shadow was a bit off or something they said. Either way though, I am sure they got a good grade on their project.

That is completely false. There are plenty of Golden Eagles in Canada. Especially in Western Canada. What makes the video seem suspect is the fact Golden Eagles are rarely spotted in urban areas.

Agreed. They are most common in the West, but they are spotted fairly regularly in western New York and up into the Adirondacks. Their range map looks like this:



Good fakery. Give the creator of this video an A. Had me fooled, but I was also really hoping a baby got picked of by an eagle.

So according to the map they ARE found in Montreal which would make the video a real possibility( assuming we did not already know it was faked).

Correct. Like I said previously the one thing that would seem odd (other than an eagle actually trying to pick up a child ) is seeing a Golden Eagle in area like a park with a lot of people. That would be rather unusual.

The fact that it is unlikely to be there gives them reason to be filming though its not like half the fake videos out there when there is no reason for you to be filming it. Swings and roundabouts really.

Happened in London many years ago when one escaped from London Zoo. It went after a small dog in Regents' Park, infront of several people, and it's horrified owner.

Slightly different as that one was clearly comfortable around people as it wasn't wild, but it has happened before. Thats what led me to think that clip could be real..
