we're also on a rolling list to stay and clean the place after last classes. no matter what belt you are, you almost take a pride in keeping the place clean as can be.

I think that could be FBC's niche at his UFC gym.

buy lots of wraps and a couple different mouthguards. also if you dont already have a punching bag at home, get one. thats what i suggest anyway. the longer you can kick and throw punches the better, they should teach you everything else at the gym. now go win us a title..

I have a pretty solid wrestling background. I'm really excited, I don't have any dreams of being a UFC fighter or anything but I think that I'll do ok!

How so? I am actually starting MMA training. It's something I've been interested in, I finally have the time/money to do it and i think it's a great way to get in shape as well. I have a wrestling background as well and some martial arts. This is not a troll thread and I appreciate that tips that people have for me.

Everyone has "Title dreams" or a "game plan" until they get punted in the face.........If you can get up and fight on whilst trodding on your fallen chicklets?? you are probably "hired".

This is true! I've been in a few fights. I am NOT going to make a career of this. It's just to get in shape, have fun and blow off some steam.

Dude is this thread a joke?
1st of all i'm sure you've been corrected 30 times already but UFC is a company, not a sport, not a style. you are training some form of MMA...its not a UFC gym. I've been in a few legit gyms- Philadelphia Fight Factory, Balance Studios, NJMA ... all train world class fighters You might as well do an aerobics class unless you are going there to train to actually be a fighter... if its a good gym, its going to be full of guys getting ready for fights. Other then the classes they offer expect not to fit in...unless they just take everyone off the street and the trainers arent very good. I've been to the open gym on weekend mornings a few times at different places - everyone else there has records... not criminal , fight records. Only reason i was tehre is cause i was brought by a fighter. and stop callign it UFC. for the last time.

I actually meant that in a complimentary way. I've got nothing against thread trolls if they're creative and humorous. I'm actually a little disappointed that you didn't post this thread in a tongue in cheek manner. |

he UFC gym will be more than what you're looking for if you're just looking to stay in shape.
the classes will be taught by people who are qualified instructors. you'll also be able to use the gym to get your weight training/cardio in. that'll be a great deal to get started. it would beat being a dumbass and joining 4 different gyms, or going to a pro gym for the hell of it. almost all of the beginner/ intermediate classes in BJJ, Judo etc. aren't taught by the unstructor whose name is on the gym. the people there won't be looking to be pro fighters, so you'll be able to enjoy yourself while you learn some new things. i don't understand the comment about training aerobics if you're not going to actually be a fighter. something like 90% of the people who train MMA will never step into a cage for a fight. it's a great way to stay in shape, challenge yourself, see what your limits are and teach some self discipline along the way.

I've been toying with the idea of joining a MMA gym purely to keep in shape, I did Judo for a few years when I was younger which I always enjoyed but no way in hell would I ever want to fight in the cage I've got far too pretty a face also you have to be pretty in hinged to sit and someone and just pound away on their face for the sake of money
