1 cup of coffee and about 35mgs ephedrine is all you need. Ironically this is what I'm ingesting at the moment.

I found with certain other energy boosters they'd make my heart race well after my workout was completed, plus they were expensive. I cup of coffee helped me just as much, and there was no crash as I don't use sugar. Whether you're looking to increase your strength while lifting, or to increase your cardio endurace coffee will help with both. If you don't like coffee, try tea. I always drink about a half cup of coffee before I head out for my morning run. Anymore and I'll feel like I have to pee right away, a half cup jump starts me and I'm good to go.

But like swimmer said, Caffeine pills are super cheap and work great too. I take them throughout the day during work as I dont drink coffee and they are easy to carry around for a quick energy boost.

I can't hang with that stuff. Makes feel all cracked out and like i'm going to pass out after a set. I don't really consume any caffine ever so that's probably why. I use Met-rx Amped now and can function properly again.

Tuna with water and a fork when I am competing. Straight out of the can.
Now that I make a lot more money, I like the solid white. Old days, it was the cheaper stuff. Caffiene thru my wicked coffee habit. Never, ever, have I used any of the rest of that stuff. Probably works, I am guessing. But I always got a decent result my way.

I use C4 it gives me energy without the jitters and the crash....have tried 1MR but that gets me real jittery.....I have noticed that my body is starting to build up a tolerance to the C4( I've been using it for 3months)so i will have to seek out and alternative soon...i used to take 400mgs of caffiene as stated above very cost effective.... i have been told the 1MR w/ gerranium(sp?) is the one to use if you can find it.....

I switched to MP Assault and MP Recon for pre and post workouts, about a week ago.
Started with a 1/2 dose of Assault and it's been about the same as 1.M.R without the insomniac side effect. Been having shorter days lately, so I usually take it around 6, which probably helps.
