Yeah. Initially I thought it was the puck that came up my stick, but noticed the puck was behind me. Was an obvious accident, but I just got new veneers about 3 months ago that I can f up again and this was to close of a call.

You must play with a bunch of hackers. I noticed when I came to arizona and went and played some open ice the most dangerous players were the worst ones. They just cant control there sticks. I played hockey for 35 years and never got a stick in the eye but in arizona got wacked in the face a couple of times by hackers. Obviously I had the puck a lot.

Even though I mostly play pick-up or the odd tournament I for some reason can't seem to stop sticking my feet out to block shots. Usually in tournaments I'll lay down to block shots too. Pretty dumb with no shoulder pads or facial protection. I always tell myself before games I'm not going to do it but then instinct takes over. Anyways I've gotten tired of taking pucks off the feet and not being able to get the skate on for long periods of time so I bought a pair of those plastic 'skate fenders'. Let me tell you, these things are awesome. You can't tell they are on at all (by feel anyways) and I let one buddy wind up and he smoked me right on top of the foot with a slapper but I didn't feel a thing. My ankle still throbs on the inside from one I took four weeks ago. That was the final straw and the reason I ordered these things up. I have a feeling I'm gonna end up with arthritis in my feet when I'm older from the beating they've taken over the years but they should stay a lot safer now.

I always feel like it's the guys with the full cages are the ones that are the most likely to hit me in the face with the stick. Most of them just aren't careful.

I got hit in the side of the neck with a puck on Thursday. Luckily it grazed my shoulder a bit first.

Had a game last night and had nightmares about the goalie playing out of his mind.

Robbed on a high tip play. A wrister from the point, I'm camped in the high slot, and make the perfect tip to the blocker corner... and the bastard gets across and snags it with his shoulder.

On the PP, a halfwall cycle, as I cut out of the cycle and position perfectly in the face off dot for the low-to-high pass, I get the pass and let go a laser labeled for the top glove corner... and hit the goalie right in the ****ing mask.

He then gives me a soft goal late in the 3rd as he gives me the 5 hole, and doesn't take it away fast enough. Go figure.

Only good thing about mend league is you don't have to wear a cage or visor. I always hate the tough guys who act tough with cages on.

I havent worn a cage or even visor in 6 seasons

i've taken 1 stick to the face and 1 shoulder to the jaw (cheap shot in a not checking C league i was subbing for)

A league players you mostly only have to worry about pucks hitting your face from the point, they dont wrecklessly swing their sticks around like you get in C leagues...

I am going to go to visor i think though after this season, since playing full time A, theres actually a lot less trash talking and fighting then there is in C league because its people who can actually play the game and dont get overly frustrated and do somethign stupid.

I used to have to fight all the time in C league and didnt wear a cage so that the 'caged' person i was going after either had to man up and fight me or shut up.

YES! I'm sick of it.

A guy glove-punched me in my face (i don't have visor/cage on) two nights ago and of course, he has a cage on. It was the last regular season game and I couldn't do anything because I don't want to get suspended and miss the playoff.

Last time when I flipped out - I dropped my gloves and tried to fight other player (he has a cage on) so I had to get his helmet off. Guess what - I get 2 games suspension for fighting and FOUR games for taking his helmet off.

I understand the policy with helmet situation (USA Hockey) but what the fk am I supposed to do if other player could glove-punch me in my face without getting any suspension? I'm just sick of it.

Yeah my post was conveying exactly that. I must say that the shoulder to the jaw (which was in a non check league) that actually dropped me and had me trying to get up for a second or 2, i couldnt believe there was no penalty and no one seemed to see it on either team...the guy wasnt wearing a cage either and was willing to go for what he did...the worst is when someone with a cage goes high on you and talks trash through the cage it makes me crazy ...crazy enough to rip it off them as well.

the league i play in has A league, B League, C+, C, C- and Novice, and over 40.

In the regular season they are combined and A and B league play each other because there are only 10 teams total between A and B (4 A and 6 B) C+ has like 10, C has 10, C- has 10 and novice has like 4 i think i dont really know about them...

9-5 Win at my B league playoff game last night

now we wait to see who we play in the 2011-2012 championship

Oliver's who we played and beat 2 games to 0 last in last years 2010-2011 C+ championship

or

Mix Sports who for some reason seems to have our number this year...

we finished 14-4 and played the second half of the season in A league only losing to the top A team twice...and somehow lost to Mix Sports both times we played them this season...

Lost the last game.

Some dweeb wearing a full cage came around the net in my end with his head turned and was skating right at me standing in front of the net. He saw me last second, ducked and drove the top of his head into my jaw. I chased him around the ice to no avail, which is a good thing. I wanted to kill the guy.

Absolutely no respect in C leagues around here. I'll barely touch you when everyone's being clean, but I just can't stand some of these jokers. Sends me right over the edge sometimes.
