I'm playing for the titans up in Grundy, we played this team DelVal last night and whooped on them 14-2.

I had 2 goals and an assist, and add another goal to that because I went down to block a pass across the crease and it crawled between my goalies legs.

I got two minutes for tripping, which was bullshiit, the douchebag caugt an edge in the ice.

And I got robbed from getting my hat trick, as I had the goalie down, went around him, and couldn't elevate the puck, and he stopped me with the glove.

some rought stuff after the game, one of our smallest, but feistiest players got in a shouting match after the buzzr, I stayed on the ice with him tomake sure he didn't getpummele considering he was yapping at a guy who looked like a fat scott parker... one of the meanest goatees I have seen in a while.

It was a fun game, and I'm glad to be back, first game in 6 months... how about you guys?

In the 2 leagues I play in, we are doing alright.

In the Minnesota Wild Adult League, we are 3-2, but we've won 3 straight. I was scoreless the first 2 games, and have 7 points in the last 3.

In my other league we are 3-1 (first loss in the regular season in about 2 years). They don't keep track of points in that one, so I have no idea how that's going.

Got in a huge melee tonight.

A guy came in and chopped at our goalie, and was immediately greeted with three sitcks to the face, in a sort of cross check motion. Our goalie came out swinging big time, and everybody paired off.

I paired off with a aguy just inide my crease. We had a hold of each other's sleeves and I was about to unload on the guy, then I realized there was a player on top my goalie slugging away at him.

So I come to his aid, and pile on top of the guy, trying to rip him off to no avail. So my backup plan was to just unload on him, so I started swiging away, only to have my originial partner come find me, rip my visor off as he was on my ack, and he unloaded a haymaker that caught me just above my eye.

So without even thinking, I swung my elbow around, knoced the guy to his ass, picked him back up, and I got both of his sleeves tied up in my left hand, and then I just unloaded three or four straight rights to his cheek and eye. The guy dove to the ice, and hid for cover... with ym adrenbaline still rushing, I continued to pummel him until the refs dove in.

The thing that got me the most, was when this guy was wildlyswinging at me from behind, he was talking shiit on top of that, but when I turned around, he magically shut his yap.

Three of us got misconducts and tossed from the game, we were up 5-1, so no worries, we just broke into the cooler 5 or so minutes early, and had some beers to cool off.

My adrenaline is still fukking rushing. I may be sporting a black eye for the nex week or so, that cocksucker

I guess you can say that I play in a beer league down in Texas. The game is basically just officiated by the players on the ice and checking is allowed, but it mostly doesn't happen that often.

Nothing that would cause any fights.

Overall, it's just a fun league and afterwards we all hit the bar for drinks and to talk about hockey.

Aside from the beer league, I play in the competitive adult league as well. Now there are plenty of hits and fights to go around. I personally am not much of a fighter, I love to throw some bone crunching hits here and there, but rarely end up in fighting.

As of right now, the beer league I have 3 goals and 4 assists in 6 games. The competitive adult league I have 6 goals and 1 assist in 8 games. Still have over 20 games to go in each league.

Had a game Friday night, we played the 4th place team, us being in third.

We lost 5-4 in the last minute in the game. They scored with ammiute to go on an odd man rush. Wecomlpetely controlled the game, out-shooting the opposition by over 20 shots, they just seemed to capitalize better.

It also didn't hurt that our goalie let in a few softies.

I played a solid game, we were short guys again, and our one d-man got sick early on and didn't finish the game, so we basically played the entire game on a 3 man rotation back on D. There wasn't too much rough stuff, our opponents were actually a classy group for the most part, all but one of their guys, a loud mouth POS "tough guy". I got whistled for an elbow, I don't agree with it honestly, I went up to p[lay the puck, and I met with the opposition (loud mouth POS) at the same time as the puck, he went down, then I got the gate for 2 minutes.

On my way to the box, the POs yapped on and on, I ignored for the most part, I don't give ionto that BS... for the most part. Well then the next play, my guy was coming across the blue line and almosyt got his head taken off by the loud mouth, he was called for charging, and I assumed this was a retaliation to my earlier hit on him. Well my guy was down for a bit, and when he got up, he called the guy an asshole for yapping, mind you, this POS is already in the box, as am I, just separated by the scorer.

Well he decided to act like a tough guy and storm out of the box and try to go after my guy, well I reacted instinctually and followed suit, I darted out of the box, he was intercepted by the ref, so I went over to tell him about a few things he shouldnt do to my teammates as he pretended to be held back by the ref. I didn't bother making the charge for him, and the ref knew I wasn't either, I just amde sure he didnt go out there after my hurt teammate, and also with ym team down. The ref went over to me, and guided me back to the box, the same treatment was issued to the POS, who decided to talk to some smaller guys on the way back besides me, I got back in the box, got his direction, pointed right at him, and told him to saty in the box for as long as he can, bc next we're on the ice together, I'm gonna kick the **** out of him.

Surpringly, despite my 3 man rotation on D, we didn't see the ice together for the rest of that game.

Note: I don't really consider myself some BS tough guy, it's mroe of a team thing, I am one of the bigger guys on the team, and have dropepd them before, in fact, in my last game with them, but I don't pick fights and goon it up; it's a men's league, most guys just want to play casually; I'm just there to make sure none of my guys get cheap-shotted.

Crazy game tonight, I was pushed up to forward tonight, a semi-finals game.

The game reminded me of a damn Edmonton Oiler's playoff game, 50 shots for both sides, the game had to be decided in overtime.

It was a realy tense game, the previous game, we beat this squad in OT. We started off with a bang, went up 2-0. I was on the third wing pair group, and for soe reason, it was wierd, every shift we were up, we wound up on the PP. So I got in some good PP time, planted my big ass in front of the net, and came very very close to taking a shot off the balls. See, as I have mentioned before, I refuse to wear a cup, well the shot came in about nut-high from the point, heading straight for me, I actually took my glove, and knocked the puck down, in a tipping fashion to protect my balls and almost got the goal with that, but no dice.

The 2nd period wasn't our best, we slowed down, and the team crawled back, and made the score 2-2. Then we took the lead back, only for them to tie it up and then go ahead to amke it 4-3.

It was getting late in the game, so we were pressing hard, about 5 minutes to go, and before you know it, all 5 of our guys were down below the circles, the puck takes a wierd bounce, and then we had the other team rushing on a 4 on 0, our goalie didn't realy know what to do, so at first he came out to try to take the puck off the guy, but then realized that was a bad idea, so he surrendered, but couldn't get back in time and they scored to make it 5-3.

Soon after, they took 2 bad penalties, and with two minutes to go, we go with a ballsy move, we pull our goalie to make it a 6 on 3. We scored with a minute and a half to go to make it 5-4. We put the goalie back in, took the face off, got it int heir zone, and pulled the goalie once again, and finally we sent in a rebound 8.4 seconds to go to tie up the game and send it to OT.

On my first shift in OT, right off the draw in our own zone, I come out, blcok a shot and go the other way, I took it end to end, only to rip a shot off the goalie's glove, then it carumed off the cross bar and into the netting. On the ensuing draw, it was won back to the d-man, he passed it to me along the boards, and I sent a shot/pass over to my center and he banged it home to take us to the finals, which begin tomrorow night, 3-game series.

Great fun game, I couldn't be happier to be abck on the ice, not too much rough stuff, but the team we play i the chapionship, is the same team that we brawled with a week ago, so this one should get nasty.

Man BSB I would love to play over there. When I was in Bantams aa we had alot of what you were mentioning. I was in Colorado at the time in a national tournament playing a team from St. louis and I swear these guys came straight from the farm. I was pretty decent forward and never was apart of the rough stuff but some of these guys would antagonize you until even the softest player would crack. It was a 16 team tourny and I beleive we were in our 4th game, this is from what I beleive to remember, and a Jr. Blue came cutting accross our blue line only to lit up big time by this kid Marc on my team (6'2, 205) laid the kid straight out on his back (the kid he laid out was the size of me 5'10 170) Marc was called with a 5 min charging call and these Jr. Blues were not having it.

So on this extended PP for the other team seemed like the puck never went anywhere besides crossing back and fourth just under our blue line, going from D to D. I saw what they were doing and took the interception half way down past the red line (on a break away) I get a tomahawk chope to the Bicep chest neck area, which sents me almost through the boards on my left! Non the less I get the P shot. I break in pretty quick and fake the leg and go 5 hole which catches the goalie a bit but trickles in. at this point everything is heated. Our big boy gets out of the box and is imediediatly welcomed by 2 Jr blues who absolutely wreck our guy, at this point anyone who was on the ice was going in swinging and trying to find someone. I was not on the ice for this but we had matching misconducts of 4 and had 3 of our guys in the box and they had 4 guys one in which they were not handing out any fighting majors since I dont think thats what they did but gave 10 minute un sportsman likes to all 3 of ours and gave the 10 min unsportsman likes to 3 of theres and we had a 5 minute PP for a delay of game/roughing/and unsprotsman like penalty to the other guy.

To make a long story short we ended up shutting the team out 4-0. one or two days later this blues team was sent home on losses as they lost 5 straight.

I would love to play as I was pretty good traveling the US and some parts of Canada but the only option I had was to live in Canada and I wasnt about to do that!

That's some good stuff Scott. I'm really missing the days of HS hockey, I missed out on a few oppurtunities myself, nothing really big that would sent me to the big leagues, but some nice stepping stones. I was offered a few shots to play junior B hockey for the Philadelphia Patriots, but the offer was made half-way through one of my semesters, and if I were to do juniors, it would not only cost me out the ass, but it would strip me of time at school, so I turned it down, and am still regretting it, but at least I'm getting to see the ice either way. It's great being back on the ice and feeling the intensity of the game again.

What offers did you have/ are you still playing any ice?

As for right now? no I am not playing still conditioning like I was but coming to az it was never the best for me. I wasnt offered much of anything to be honest as I stopped right before anyone would have done any scouting. In Colorado I was approched by some canadian club teams that would train you fro juniors and if they didnt see you making it there then they would have stuck you on some travel team to further exposure. I had letters from various colleges but nothing to get excited about. After my mom got her practice here in az it was either football, baseball or basketball in highschool in which wasnt very apealing. I did some traveling on a midget aa team here combined with some players from california and utah, but it still just wasnt the same. I was invited by shawn white who had some affiliation of the phoenix roadrunner to try out for them but at the time of try outs I was in the same situation you were, school. So as of now I just stay healthy and hope to get back into some league here. They have an elite league that some X pros (old timer no names) play in but I heard its pretty intense and competetive. So I was going to check that out.

That's some good stuff, too bad you got stuck in AZ which isn't exactly famous for their hockey. Get in any league you can though man, it may not have the same intensity, but its just a great feeling to be back out there, nothing else like it. Some beer leagues or whatever, a no-worry hockey season, eat pizza, drink beer, and play some ice hockey, that's my kind of hockey.

Back in the late 80's or mid 90's, a team from AZ won the National championship of the NNHA. There are more "Snowbirds" in Arizona than locals.
