BigBubba - NOT HERE! Buying or selling of tapes is strictly forbidden on this site. Please do not mention it as an option because it is not one.

Yes, what I said earlier is only an option elsewhere, not here.... and it was meant as a joke.

Some tips on mailing from my experience. If you are in the USA, try to use to Priority Mail. Its real quick and relatively inexpensive. $3.50 1-2 tapes, $3.95 3-4 tapes, $5.20 5-7 tapes, $7.20 8-10 tapes. Usually gets there in 2-3 days anywhere within the USA. Normal shipping is about half the price, but takes 1-2 weeks sometimes longer. The longer they have it, the greater the chance that they'll lose it.

But here's the best part. The priority mail boxes are free. You just have to ask for them at the post office. I used to ask for 5 every time I was running low. Now though I order straight through the USPS web site. They will send you boxes free in multiples of 25. All you have to do is sign a waver saying thats the only thing you'll use the boxes for, mail that is. Oh yeah, make sure their the Priority Mail box, not the Express Mail boxes.

So if you send normal shipping and have to buy the box, its basically the same price as Priority, with alot less wait time. Just trying to help.

How many tapes would one trade for a DVD? I would imagine 1 for 1, any suggestions?

I guess it depends on the DVD, but I would offer at least 2-3 tapes for a DVD. But that's just me.

Cool, a guy wants to send me DVD's for tapes, I didn't want to rip him off so I figured I'd see what the going rate was. Thanks.

John, I know how you feel. Biggest problem is that there are too few traders in the UK and to trade with North Americans causes grief due to PAL/NTSC complications.

Hopefully i can help out some guys with some advice. I would suggest that you tape all the games that you can get. Watch the tape trade center as guys are always looking for games they missed. Thats a good way to start. And if you can get any minor league games there are lots of guys who will trade for them. I will. LOL.

After that, whatever team is your local team. Make a team tape of them for the year. Put in the effort and try to make it as complete as possible. It will take a season but you will have a tape to trade and most guys will trade for a complete, or as close as possible, team tape in good quality because you have it first generation.

Some other advice for the guys making tapes, make two masters. If one gets eaten or broken there goes a season of work down the drain. I know and its a real piss off.

Some other suggestions are if you are going into being a serious collector try and pick up team by year tapes. I found getting the assorted tapes that its a lot of the same fights over and over.

Hope this might help.
