Most total FM in Game

I was just telling a friend of mine about ther Wings Preds game on 10/30/03 where it seemed the fights kept coming. Most fun I have ever had at a game. Looking at the box score there were 9 FM's in that game. I never heard anything about it being a record... but its also more than I have ever seen. Has there ever been games with 10 + fights? If so, whats the record.

The famous B-Sens/Phantoms brawl with the flying Neil Little had by my count a total of 21 FM.

Anyone know the NHL record? If we go minors I'm sure there are hundreds of games with well over 10 fights in them.

Agreed. It seems funny that a Preds / Wings game would have the most in recent history. Just watched the fights again on youtube... what a night. 210 PIM. 9 Majors. A fight :23 seconds into the game... and 3 fights in the last 1:15. Steve Yzerman lost his mind and had 34 PIM. Gotta be a record for him. Its ALSO LAUGHABLE to watch suspension jesus B Shanahan go nuts on Adam Hall after a preds goal. I wonder what he would do now if Tootoo or Rinaldo pulled something like that. I wish that kind of thing still happened in hockey.

Brendan Shanahan Vs Adam Hall 10/30/03 -...

There were 22 fighting majors in that game, all in the 3rd period. All because of martin havlat cheap shot on Recchi. havlat did not have any PIMS in the game.

Donald Brashear got 2 fighting majors at the same time. Although the second one was kind of cheap by Van Allen.

Actually, it was "only" 80, but it still beats Randy Holt's #.

There were 21 FMs. Todd Simpson didn't get one vs Danny Markov.

I'll be re-posting that game again soon (did at the time, not since).

Only one NHL game tops it, Minnesota North Stars at Boston Bruins Feb 26, 1981:

A couple of other games had almost as many match-ups as Phi-Ott, but more one-sided FM counts. Then a couple of more hit 20.

You are right with the 21 count, but it was because Brash had 2 majors. Todd Simpson did recieve a fighting major in every boxscore I found.
