Your Best Fight

What was the best fight you've ever seen in the NHL and what made it the best fight for you?

There could be many reasons.

Maybe it was your favorite fighter doing great?
Maybe you disliked the other guy?
Maybe it was the timing of the fight?
Maybe it was the circumstances surrounding the fight?

Whatever the reason, this fight and only this one fight, was your favorite.

Mine was Stan Jonathan of the Boston Bruins vs Pierre Bouchard of the Montreal Canadiens.

For me this fight had everything.

1)It was the playoffs
2)One of the greatest rivalries in the NHL
3)David vs Goliath
4)A technically beautiful fight with hands being switched and counterpunches
being landed.
5) The crowd was going nuts! You could cut the tension in the air with a
knife.
6) And a bonus bout of John Wensink vs Gilles Lupien to boot!

What was your favorite fight? Do tell!!!

I would pick Probert/Domi rd 2 , for a few reasons. The build up and anticipation to it was like nothing seen since. ESPN was all over this, as was all print media. I think the fight lived up to the hype, Probert all over Domi. Still get a kick out of seeing Yzerman mock Domi with the "championship belt" taunt. Pretty classic stuff.

For me it's Behn Wilson - McGill :

1. LOVED the Hawks
2. Hated the Loafs
3. Hated the lazy way B.Wilson played, used his stick..but when it came to dropping the gloves-there was nobody better IMO.
4. It had the classic square off at center ice (McGill had been rough-housing the CHI forwards on the powerplay- then Wilson came out for the PP).
5 Momentum change- McGill had the best of it early and Wilson " just got mad and took over" as Dale Tallon said.
6. THE BEST CALLED FIGHT IN HOCKEY HISTORY !!!!! Pat Foley became a legend after this classic. I was laughing at the blow-by-blow, and still do to this day. The crowd at the Stadium was going bananas !!!

Spider'. That's a great call on Jonathan -Bouchard - great fight , one of the all time classics for sure.

HM
Probert- Coxe 2
Neely- Green (WHL)
Marty Mac-Clark
B.Wilson-Clark
Nystrom-Wensink
Fotiu- Paterson ( it was rare to see a Flyer get his butt handed to him from a Ranger)

Probert - Brown 2- it was the two best guys going toe to toe in a slugfest.

Joseph-Cheveldae-This goalie fight was a pretty good one but that is not why I put it there. I put it on this list because it was part of a very cool linebrawl between the Blues and the Wings and I was in the building for it. It happened right at the start of the game and the roof came off the place

Kimble V Churla- this one occurred in the 90-91 playoffs and it was toe to toe. I put it on here because I was in the Building.

Twist v Ray-Twist destroyed Ray and kind of let the rest of the league know there was a new Sheriff in STL and again I was in the building

I am sort of johnny come lately to this fight as someone introduced it to me via HF.COM - And, of all the fights I ever witnessed this one leaps out, and is stuck in my mind in a perpetual loop:

That's awesome that you were at the game where Ewen KO'd Probie! I bet the roof came off the place when they had Rd 2 at center ice!

That Low-Stock battle was Low's best as a Blue

Easily my favorite also. I've never seen 2 guys throw and take punches in any fight like these two before or since. It's why they are top 10 all time tough guys. I saw it live on ESPN and was just in awe of what I was seeing, 2 warriors going at it with both ferocity and respect.

Both of these guys had incredible stamina and Marty M took a couple of KO shots and kept fighting. One of the great parts of this fight was watching their teamates as they looked on in awe.

I always liked Reed Low and he was very underated as he was a very good fighter. He gave Derek Boogard all he could handle as well.

That Probert - Brown fight was one of the biggest in NHL history. Both of these guys were highly ranked at the time and Brown started off strong until Probert turned on the jets. Very exciting fight - must see viewing!

Jack Edwards was so over the top with his criticism of Henry you have to laugh. I'm surprised he didn't trash his family!
