On top of this there were at least 2 hours of other fights from that era.

i'm sure allot of posters on this site have similar stories!

I was reading awhile back that Churla and Wendel Clark had a great toe 2 toe battle back in the day-pre NHL careers. Was that on there?

no but i saw that fight on the sports news cast in saskatoon........they showed all the footage and it was a great T2T in 1984. very close battle and pretty long....Churla ended up cut pretty badly. two nights later Churla was up in Prince Albert with a nice shiner and he was still running around looking for trouble....warrior. i had just moved back to saskatoon from Edmonton and had heard about this Clark kid....he was 18 (in his draft year) and Churla was 20 i believe and had a rep as a top heavy in the WHL....i was really impressed with Clark going with the big boys

yea i'd kill to have that fight on tape it was Clark and Churla wide open at their best... so i'm sure you can imagine!!

If anybody can get me the clip of Curtis Hunt vs Shane Churla, I would really appreciate it.

As far as Gassoff fights, I am surprised his second tilt with Tiger Williams has never made it to tape since it was a Hockey Night in Canada game

I would like to see the entire Bob Gassoff-Grant Mulvey tilt because if there is a clip of it on that True Blues tape the team put out in the mid 80's tape of the whole fight exists. Begging the Question, when they were doing the Gassoff segment on the tape why didn't they show the whole fight?

There are a lot of guys that little footage exists of Gassoff. J. Bob Kelly, Val James, Jack Carlson that have legendary reputations and it's a shame for fans.

As a Blues fan I wish there was more footage of that crazy SOB Steve Durbano there isn't much on him either.

Fish, do or any of you older posters have any crazy memories of Durbano?

Thanks

Of course we'll get all footage give it another 30-50 years and we'll have time machines who can go back and film everything in 4D Hd

I have five or so tapes from the late 50's Bruins/Canadiens and I think the Red Wings/Toronto. Just as Flaman was ready to go at it twice the tape cut away. Also watched a history of the Bruins on NESN and same thing Flaman just starts to engage some guy and the film goes some where else. Those battles are out there. There are a couple fights on those tapes one a Donnybrook.

There are old fights uncovered from time to time. Most of the time it is some hilite running along side an interview or fight related story. Just the other night I was watching a Derek Sanderson interview with some Boston law institute. They are talking about fighting in hockey and on the screen they show Wayne Cashman vs Noel Picard from game one of the 70 finals. I posted pics of this . It is a quick fight but they show virtually the whole fight. Now I never even heard of this one being out there but there is Cash firing 3 good lefts and going on top of Picard behind the net. And I'm thinking if they have this someone has more. Saw a Schultz fight I never saw either. Again it was a hilite and Schultz is firing rights at a number 3 in what looks like a leaf or sabre blue jersey. Think it was John Grisdale. they show just enough to get you excited, but of course your thinking someone has a longer version of these hilites. You can hope. The Cashman fight shocked the sh-t out of me. I never thought I would see that one again.

Kinda vague reference by the OP.

I'm assuming you mean NHL only?

I get 'New" never seen before, traded uploaded etc... fight footage on a regular basis. It's all old, and it's all from retired professional hockey players.

Nobody seems to trade anymore so does it really matter? The only people who tend to care about the old footage are the guys like myself who still make DVD's and trade them. I mainly make DVD's of players nobody has ever made as well.
