Wildest 1st games

Post clips or stories about enforcers getting called up to the show and creating big mess in their 1st ever NHL game

David Kociīs 1st ever regular season NHL game:

Mar 10, 2007 Chicago vs Phoenix

Two and half minutes of playing time which contained this material:

42 PIMS, three fights, two game misconducts, one 5 minute major charging penalty, one injured guy (very common numbers for european players 1st games)

I think Paul Stewart (later to be a ref) fought three bruins in his initial game with quebec. Terry O, Secord and Jonathan. I'd have to check to see it was his first game.

I think Jimmy Mann of winnipeg might have done basically the same thing. Possibly vs the same three guys.

I'm going to check DYG and see if i'm close to correct

It seems i was "half right" or possibly right etc. Stewart did fight the three bruins, even engaging in a pregame stick joust with wayne cashman in what may have been his second game. He played one on Oct 2 (preseason?) then fought the triumvrate of bruins on Nov 22.

It looks like mann did, also, fight the three bruins in his SECOND game as well. DYG has him in a fight 2 days before.

Sorta, kinda right. Damn memory

I remember seeing Stewarts first game, think it was on the usa network. His fight with Jonathan was probably the best out of the three.

Stewart definitely had that hat trick.

Probert had the fantastic Coxe fight to kickstart his amazing career.

Todd Ewen fought Probert twice in one of his first games I believe and floored the champ.

Semenko went after Billy Smith in his first NHL altercation!

I think Ewen's fights against Probert were his second and third fights. I think his first fight was against a non fighter (maybe Marc Bergevin?). I was at that game when Ewen put Probie down. Probably Ewens biggest personal career achievement.

Kevin Maguire floored Harold Snepsts and jumped n' pumped Probert in his first game, he was tossed out for the Probert altercation......had a huge bandaid over his forehead, kind of reminded me of The Mummy that night, needless to say, I was happy he was called up, seeing Harold Snepsts' melon rocked was one of my hilites of the 80's.
