Propp was a huge piece of shiat, I remember him spearing Sittler in the face and opening him up like a tap......

Acton was a Linseman clone, Kordic did the right thing.

Anyone remember how Linseman used to spear guys in the nuts?? what a goof!

Too hard to call it old school, just too many incidents and too many years.

Patrick Kaleta needs a serious beating or injury though, Lucic as well but PK is my top pick for today's # 1 coward

YouTube - John Kordic cheapshots on Keith Acton

Brian Propp is another Flyer who deserves mention here. Check out this clip where he spears Russ Anderson of the Penguins in the throat and then when all hell brakes lose, Propp is nowhere to be found to accept the thrashing that he truly deserved. A coward, no doubt about it:

Great Flyers/Pens clip and wonderful to see the Rat bleed and Wilson catch a shot from Baxter. By the way, Boutette was another jackoff like Linseman and Acton! That rat bastid never dropped his stick!

Some other cowardly acts that come to mind :

John McKenzie punching and KICKING Keith Magnuson as Bobby Orr held him during a Bruins-Blackhawks brawl.

James Patrick and Claude Lemeiux squaring off where Patrick took off his helmet and Lemeiux refused to take off his helmet and shield.

Duane Sutter jumping on Nick Fotiu's back and attempting to choke him.

Same with Espo with his stinky turtleneck and sweeping the goddamn faceoff dot before the drop of the puck and his crying and bitc*ing all the damn time. I hated that guy and yet when he became a Ranger, he was one of ours!
My old man and I used to goof on Vadnais as Rangers would zoom past him and score and yet when he became a Ranger, his cheapshots and stickwork didn't seem as bad and he focused more on defense as a Ranger!
Same with Brashear now or Knuckles Nilan! Not always but normally you love the sweater and that carries you through!
Now when Domi suckered Ulf Samuellson, I didn't mind frankly so there are exceptions to the sweater rule!
I loved it when Sanderson was with the Rangers and beat up Bobby Clarke

Kind of took a liking to him after that .

Yes Clarke was a great player and leader along with someome you'd love to have on your team. And in a way he did display courage by playing with an affliction (diabetes) where he was told by many that he would never be able to play the game.

Though there are differents forms of courage and in one way Clarke was definately a coward. I have no pity for the Russians either and putting that aside Clarke's track record in The NHL speaks for itself where on several occasions would instigate fights or take cheap shots at opposing players and would hide in the bushes as his goons Schultz, Kelly and Dupont would do the dirty work for him.

Schultz mentioned in his book and interviews how he grew tired of fighting Clarke's battles. And don't think that Stan Fischler fabricated that.

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought of Ed Van Impe. Other 1960s choices would be Terry Harper and Bryan Watson. For the all time coward, it would be hard to beat Ken Linseman. I haven't seen Brian Propp mentioned for a while. My one recollection of him is when he took a pounding from Terry Ruskowski.

One time Linseman almost caused a mini-riot between the Rangers/Flyers and everyone is scrapping and Barber is taking shots from Hospodar and Phil Esposito is doing the game and says, "look at the guy who still has his stick and he started it all" and of course it was Linseman. Jim Gordon's comment was that Linseman looked like Don Adams!
I remember years back, the Wings were at Boston and McKenzie was jostling in front of the Wings net with Larry Johnston and he got his stick up and cut Johnston. Johnston immediately dropped his gloves and went after Pie and Pie was backpedaling all the way to the corner looking for help. Too late, Johnston went to pummeling McKenzie and all he could do is try and cover up. That was one of the happiest days of my hockey life.

All we needed was Bettman to put the cherry on top!
