Who was the biggest coward?

I'm not talking size here. What do you think? In the history of the NHL, who was the biggest coward bar none?

Ken Linseman?

Bobby Clarke?

Claude Lemieux?

How about Ulfie? Matt Cooke would get some nods too, for sure.

I'm sorry......but that was a heads up play by Clarke. It takes a lot of guts to do something like that with everyone watching. You have to remember it was the Cold War. He was sending a message

Clarke even had the love tap on the ankle of Kharlamov.

Good mentions but don't forget Hillard Graves. He was brutal and lets not forget Bryan Trottier with his famous knee on knee cheapshots!
Linseman was king coward and guys like Acton were right there also!

knowing that the soviets don't fight nancy boy Clarke seemed to grow about a foot and put on 50 pounds every time he played them....ask yourself a question....would Bobby ever have the balls to do that in the NHL against the bruins or without the Bullies behind him? two handing Kharlamov and breaking his ankle was still one of the low points in Canadian Hockey history...i love tough hockey but it was a bu115hit cheap shot to take the other teams best player out of a series because we weren't good enough to beat them strait up....i would have loved to pi55 on fergy and Clarke on the bench when they were hatching that scheme in 1972

Clarke was a very good hockey player.....a great Captain....and had amazing will to win and despite being undersized got allot done in his career and for that i respect him.....BUT......IMHO he was a coward because he loved to stir it up and get other guys to finish what he started.

not sure if he was the biggest Coward ever but he was a pu55y for sure....pretty tough and mouthy when you have the toughest friends backing you type guy....he always new if he got in the fight in the NHL his team would all jump in

I'd say that it's a toss up between Clarke and Linesman.

Another one who deserves some mention is Paul Baxter. Though he did have his share of scraps, did his Cecil The Turtle routine once too often against the likes of Holmgren, Nilan, Tocchet, Fotiu, Howatt ect.

I was just thinking, half the NHL today fits this thread as they hide behind their goddamn masks and act tough but will never drop the mitts!

Icouln't agree with you more, Brad, about this guy. That was a blatant, sneaky cheap shot by a cheap shot artist. This guy was tough when he had tough guys at his back. Without backup, a calculating creep like him would be hesitant to stir up trouble with a guy who might immediatelly retaliater. I never liked this creep, and like him less now after seeing the video.
