I lurked from about 2002 to late 2003. Started with googling hockey fight pics, then the HF forum brought me in.

Same here. Once the lockout began I Needed to talk hockey with others to at least have it somewhat in my life. The infamous flyers sens brawl, tripp aitken ko, rivet marchment slugfest, and multiple brawls w/ rags vs isles.
Sad to have to go through another one of these, but they can't take this site from us!

I joined this site right after the 04-05 lockout. Fighting sucked that year, but we had one of the best rookie classes for fighting with Boogaard, McGrattan, Orr, Janssen, Parros, and Gratton.

I was working on Bush's reelection campaign in Virginia. I received a White House appointment and sallied forth diown the Pentagon and the White House Liaison Office where I met with officials who found something for me to do over in Iraq. After waiting for the position to be created, housing issues to be resolved, and a lull in the mortar and rocket attacks on Presidential Palace (Saddam's - U.S. embassy) where in and around the trailers were set up I discovered HH>COM late 2003 .......

February 2000 McSorley Whacks Brashear in the noodle.

I joined in December 2004, that means 04-05 season. Not much NHL action that year.

One of the famous incidents was this:
Brashear almost killed a nobody in a league where announcers sound funny

hockey fight brashear reportage TQS et generale...

I joined after the BRUTAL Islanders-Leafs playoffs of 2002, i remember being so pissed off and fired up and tense that my thighs were cramping as i was typing lol

I remember Cairns coming into his own and REALLY being a force in the league, Brash and Laraque and Worrell were the other superheavies with A young Scotty Parker trying to be consistent, i think Lessard was called up at end of year, Godard trying to get a start in the league as well as others, i think it was a pretty good year for us fight fans

There are more that im forgetting but the biggie to me was the Isles-Maple leafs INTENSE playoffs series, where i finally decided to join this crazy place

I joined around the same time and have around the same amount of posts. Remember that series well. Hard to believe the Leafs and Isles met in the playoffs. has either team been back since?

I think this was the year the Panthers went off with about 120 fights with guys like Worrell and Laus and Tetarenko etc.

Not gonna look up the Habs #'s but I'm guessing bottom third of FM's with between 30-40.

I think Detroit beat Carolina in the finals this year.

LOL we are almost identical, and then the Isles and Leafs lol

That playoff series was great, those teams were BASHING each other - The Isles had Webb who was bowling ball guys all over the place, (1 man wrecking crew with his hits) and Cummins played a couple of games, i think the Isles grabbed more physical players the next year or so

I remember those Panther teams, very tough, Teteranko had a willing reputation but he was not that great a fighter but willing. What has happened in the past 10 years to my sport

2003.. I remember Eric Cairns was just tearing sh*t UP when I joined the site... Domi's career was spiraling downwards but Belak was just emerging. Leafs were pretty stacked with toughness when you add in Perrott and Marchment

I remember waiting forever to see Laraque and Brashear get their asses kicked (not racist, I swear), amazingly Laraque never did but it took over half a decade to see Brashear get dropped hard.

I lurked for awhile before I finally manned up and took the plunge. I'd say I sat on the sidelines for a few months, just because things were so vicious here at one point. Everyone knew a bunch of stuff and you didn't want to be the guy talking about something you didn't know, because you'd get crucified. Lots of great topics and interaction and definitely a lot more trading going on as youtube hadn't come along to dominate the fight industry at that point. Did a bunch of deals with some great guys and than ended up with a bunch of tapes and no VCR to run them on... Still have those tapes at my folks house and watch them occasionally on Dad's old TV/VCR that somehow hasn't bit the bullet yet... I remember the old characters mostly from that era. It would be nice if a few more of them had managed to stay in touch over the years.
