I can see Peluso winning this series. i know we like to bag on Peluso for his bad balance but he was actually a pretty decent scrapper during his time in NJ. I never thought of him as a face puncher or toe to toe fighter; he was more of a rear back and fire type. He would put his head down and fire away. As a southpaw he could cause problems because he was so wild at times firing shots, that he could be surprisingly hard to contain. I remember him giving Darren Langdon trouble in one fight where Peluso just fired wild long range lefts. Langdon had difficulty containing Peluso in that one. Because he fired those long range bombs, as wild as they were, he actually dropped a few guys. I remember he dropped Sylvain Blouin, Huscroft, Kimble. He still lost some fights badly and was never an elite fighter and even in his prime his balance wasn't the greatest. I also think he would hide the occasional bailout by falling or slipping.
Cote is still young and I'm not sure if he's reached his peak just yet. He is very game and willing. He will go toe to toe depsite being the smaller guy in most of his fights. I'm not sure how many big, wild, free swinging southpaws Cote has faced, but taking Cote as is, I'd say Peluso wins this one 3-1-6. I see Peluso falling a few times with a few decent draws mixed in. I see Peluso getting that long range left going and winning a few fights clearly.

I am very suprized that everyone thinks Peluso would take the series. I see Cote's chin and better balance giving him the edge but I guess to each is own.

Why Peluso would take series.
Because of the bad balance of Peluso, the fights would end quicker and I think Peluso would throw lots of punches early and get the wins before the refs stepped in. If Peluso had better balance he would have been rated much higher in the public opinion pols than he is. These fights would be very exciting with lots of punches being thrown. I don't see them as being lengthly events though. Cote takes alot of punches and Peluso threw lots of punches in his fights. A bad combination for Cote.
