What Happened in that Flyers Locker Room?
Over the years, I've read a number of stories about the fallout of the relationship between the Flyers' player and Eric Lindros. The turning point seemed to be when things got physical. I've heard three main stories on what exactly happened. Anyone who has any knowledge on this issue, please share. The goal of this thread is to dispel the rest of the rumors and finally find out exactly what happened in that Flyers' locker room...
The first story that I've heard was from a friend who has talked with Flyers' beat writer Tim Panaccio is that Brind'amour found out that Lindros was sleeping with his wife, proceeded to take on Lindros in the locker room, came out of the room the winner, and then gave Clarke an ultimatium to either get rid of Lindros or himself. The second story I've heard and seems to be leaning more to what actually happened involves Lindros and Rick Tocchet. Tocchet was reacquired by the Flyers, learned that Lindros had slept with Desjardins and Brind'amour's wives, and followed Lindros into the locker room. He then threw Lindros into a locker and beat the crap out of him, giving him another concussion. The third and final story that I've heard is that absolutely none of the rumors above hold any truth. When word of the event first spread, Ron Ryan told every Flyer not to speak to the media or anyone about what had happened. A friend of former WIP host Craig Carton, who was fired from WIP for saying that Lindros missed a game two years earlier because of a hangover, called into the station and said that Ryan had a told a source outside of the Flyers that Lindros did indeed sleep with Brind'amour's wife. Carton's friend later admitted that he was lying...

Tochett vs Lindros
Actually, my money would be on Rick Tochett in any fight with Lindros.
There were also a lot of rumours in Canada about a Lindros-Elvis Stojko fight which Elvis won in Ontario cottage country (around the same time as rumours about Lindros and a young Kate Hudson). |

It seems that there is some truth to it. I have heard stories about Lindros banging Brindy's wife for years and a few times they came from pretty good sources. Then the fallout resulting in the Brind'amour trade. As far as the lockerroom fight. I don't know, but wouldn't doubt it.
I remember the Elvis Stojko fight rumour making the rounds. But that got refuted by various sources. I actually hope that it is true, because it was damned funny.

Long, long time ago when i lifted
Said no one was in better shape than Rod or stronger in a lb. for lb. sense. Also said no guy was neccesarily any stronger than the baby bull Lindros. Only ever recall Brindamour fighting once (as a flyer) when he one punched rookie Dimitri Kristich of the Capitals. Does anyone recall Rod fighting? As for sleeping with other guys wives---------JESUS---------aren't their other fish in the sea for young, rich athletes?

I actually saw a Brindamour fight DVD on ebay a while back, at which point I wondered how such a video could even be made, or if it was titled correctly. While he did have 30+ "fights", very few would be considered real bouts, and very few if any would be considered actual wins. Very misleading. The guy couldn't fight at all.
