Sharks 96/97 were a handy bunch and all played most of the season.

1987-88 Chicago iced

Behn Wilson
Glen Cochrane
Bob McGill
Dave Manson
Curt Fraser (for part of the season)
Gary Nylund
Dave Mackey
Dirk Graham
Steve Thomas
Everett Sanipass.

That's a team that man for man would be scary as hell to face in a Bench clearer.

I've never heard of a tougher blueline, McGill, Wilson, Manson and Nylund?? are you kidding me?? that's badass!! Nylund is probably one of the most underrated fighters I ever heard of.

I know that they don't rank up their with these other teams but the 1995-96 Habs team was my favourite squad they've iced and their toughest that I remember. I've seen others list their favourite teams toughest roster so I'm doing the same. I believe they finished second to Buffalo in FM's that year.

Turner Stevenson
Lyle Odelein
Stephane Quintal
Chris Murray
Mike Keane
Craig Rivet
Donald Brashear
Darcy Tucker
Vladimir Malakhov though he rarely did could throw ok once in awhile
even Vincent Damphousse had 160 PIMS that year

A few of the guys (Keane and Tucker) only played a handful of games.

4 bench clearing brawls that season... only played only 3 games all season in which they did not fight...

I've heard of The Chiefs. Unbelievable. I don't think any team has had a collection of tough guys like that!

I was talking more NHL but that's a great contribution.

1991-92 Buffalo Sabres

Rob Ray
Brad May
Jay Wells
Brad Miller
Gord Donnelly

Brian Curran and Darcy Loewen were briefly on the roster as well.

2,713 penalty minutes!! May, Ray, and Donnelly all had over 300 minutes and 4 other players over 100 minutes. The 2,713 minutes in penalties are still a record to this day and likely never to be broken.

Damphousse was a nasty SOB. He would carve you up in the blink of an eye. I remember watching a playoff series and he had an ongoing battle with someone the whole series. What I don't remember is who it was against but there was a lot of nastiness and I couldn't wait until he hit the ice again. Vinny was on San Jose and I think it may have been Pronger but am not sure. Every tough team needs a nasty prick like that.

Kind of off topic here but I just looked at Mike Keane's profile and was amazaed to see he only had 27 fights in his whole NHL career. Would have thought he had a lot more than that.

He was one of those long fuse types who didn't fight often but was really, really good when he did. One of the contenders for the pound for pound best fighter award and a guy everyone would want on his team.
