This can happen for a variety of reasons - two guys just don't get along, frustrations boiling over if the team isn't doing well, or other, off-ice reasons amongst others. Inspired by the Tomas Plekanec/PK Subban scuffle (I refuse to call it a 'fight') in recent days, what are the more memorable ones from days gone by? Footage may be hard to come by here with the older stuff..

I'll start with a famous one - Bob Probert and Keith Primeau going at it during practice:

Battleship Kelly - Dave Logan :

..apparently had a tremendous "go" in practice after a Hockey News article came out on Kelly saying that as he's gotten older he had to "pick his spots" because fighting takes so much out of you. The following Hawks article was on Logan - who was frustrated by teammates who 'd "pick their spots"...the next week the fight happened in practice and as Hawks announcer Andy MacWilliams chronicled ' Dave Logan is wearing a basket to protect his nose which was broken in a fight in practice with Battleship Kelly. .... it was apparently a tremendous battle !!!'.



Nick Fotiu- Paul Stewart:

Another Hockey News gem...Stewart (goon) asks coach Shero who's the toughest guy on the Rangers...
Shero: "Fotiu "
Stewart: "Let me room with 'em"
In the room Stewart introduces himself and then punches Fotiu and they battle ..according to Stewart they fought 3 times (room, ice practice , and near the bus ) "Fotiu won 2 and the fight on the ice was a draw".



O'Reilly - Sanderson:

Playfair 27 reminded me of this one. Sanderson threw a stick in the locker room and hit they battled furiously...the only report was that O'Reilly got a black eye.

Always heard about Cam Neely and Byers getting into a fight at a bar in Boston apparently over Byers wanting to drive home drunk and Neely not allowing him to do so.

A long, long time ago I saw Robbie Ftorek and Jeff Carlson fight in practice, it was fake, just screwing around but i was too young and thought it was real.

Modern day, Josh Gratton and Ed Jovanovski went toe to toe in a good one, mean and nasty, those boys didnt like each other.
