Please don't, you're ruining the teams momentum

How many guys do you remember turning your head when ever they got into a fight because you knew they were going to take a beating?

Not only was your team going to lose momentum but you were worried that one of your other players was going to get a third man in penalty to boot!

You loved their spirit and competitiveness but that minute or two fighting was like an hour as you watched them being pounded, silencing either your home crowd or riling up the opposition's.

To get things started, I'm going name a player from a few teams.

By all means add yours to my list!!

Boston-Steve Leach
Chicago- Keith Magnuson
Philadelphia- Don Saleski
New York Islanders- Gerry Hart

I thought of Webb and Daniels because of this one game. I was taping it hoping to see Kordic go against Belanger. Here is what happened instead as Webb and Daniels traded momentum shifters.

Dan Kordic vs Steve Webb & Ken Belanger vs...

He was all heart but every time Matt Bradley fought as a cap, you hoped he didn't end up looking like a mugging victim. He bled at the sight of a fist. Good god but he took some one sided beatings here and there when he fought out of class.

Georges Laraque vs. Derek Boogaard in 06. The Wild are up 2-0, and just dominating play. Then, Derek and BGL square off, Laraque gets the better of him (and the knee injury Boogaard sustains at the end puts him out for a while), and the momentum swings to the tune of 3 or 4 unanswered goals by the 'Yotes.

As a Sabres fan, the most recent guy for me was Paul Gaustad. I like Goose, but in the past few seasons after he busted his thumb, his fights were usually crap. At least he challenged Lucic, but he should have done it that game.

Tom Kostopolous when he was with the Habs lost every fight he was in I believe but it seemed like instead of killing momentum, a lot of times the team would rally from it.

Can you imagine how tough Caufield would have been if he could have stayed on his feet? He was very strong and had great size but you can't do much from the bottom of the pile!

Tom K never met a fist he didn't like. Gotta love his determination though!

We should all try to find a Dingman fight where he actually throws a punch. The 1-2-3 wrestling matches are very tiresome. Its kind of like, a guy driving a car so slow he should have walked. Why did Dingman fight?

Cam Russell.

I feel bad for picking on this guy in these types of threads and I loved his enthusiasm but damn he would get tuned up sometimes.
