Pavel Bure in the hall - Compared to Lindros
Pavel Bure is being inducted into the hockey hall of fame, and rightfully so.
on NHL.com this poll is posted What was Pavel Bure's greatest accomplishment in the NHL? Three-time goal-scoring champion Back-to-back 60-goal seasons 779 points in 702 career games Which got me thinking - again...about lindros pavel put up spectacular numbers some seasons others not so much due to injury the similarities of their careers with Pavel being in and Lindros being out doesnt make sense to me will lindros get in and what would his poll be What was Eric Lindros' greatest accomplishment in the NHL? Hart Trophy as League MVP 115 Pts & 165 PIMS 1995-96 865Pts in 760 Games

Lindros should get in. He was among the game's elite for most of a decade and the best player in the world for 3-4 years. Bure, to me, was sort of like Yvan Cournoyer on steroids. Amazing player, not as dominant or complete as Lindros though.

Lindros was a great all-round player, quite possibly the greatest combination of skill and physicality the league has ever seen and he should be in the HoF. There are a couple of downsides however: His handling of being drafted to Quebec - although arguably they got the better of that as the players they traded for him won them Cups as the Avalanche a couple of years later - and the fallout at the Flyers when the injury bug started to bite him.

eric lindros will eventually get in. both players in question tho... i'll say its too bad their careers were ended early.

1) Bure accomplished more as for personal stats
2) Both the players won total **** 3) Put them both in the HOF if you want to make their fans feel good 4) They still mean **** compared to the great players as they did not won anything

He also won the Hart and the Leaster B. Pearson, so saying that he didnīt win anything is kinda wrong...true he didnīt win the cup but not everybody who is in the hall has. Bure won the Calder and he won the Rocket Richard Trophy twice. He also holds several records for the Canucks and Panthers as well as a few international records. There are guys in the HHOF that have accomplished less than these guys, not that that should make them automatic but itīs something to consider. |

I see the point about lack of cups - however the lack of cups doesn't automatically make you non-HoF material, the same as being on a cup-winning team doesn't automatically make you a HoF candidate.
Cup wins are a indicator of potential HoF worthiness, but aren't the sole gatekeeper to entry.

The only way Lindros could have won a cup with flyers was if he played in goal. There's 20 men on a team not just 1
