Thanks, guys for you and your posts.

I remember the nurse telling be when I came back from the pharmacy with the vaccine, don't worry, we won't give you the flu with this shot. When I get all my strength back, on my next visit to VA, I am thinking about giving her a shot.

The worst of it is over. I was out today and did two cases, which took about three hours. I came home and was worn out. I didn't think that I was that worn down, but, projectile pooping and vomiting take more out of you then I thought.

Well, for the first time in several years our family tradition of going to the game before Christmas, or the day after, is wiped out for this year. All games thru the first are history.

We are working on plan B, which is taking in an AHL game. We'll see.

Hope all of you are doing well and that you are getting your Christmas chores and shopping done, like good little elves.

Maggs , the AHL has been just great this season , they have some of the strongest teams I have seen since the last lockout , if you can get tickets you won't regret going to a game , even if you can get tickets to a junior A game it is great hockey this season , the trickle down effect has made this season a real boon for fans of junior and minor league hockey all over , all the minor leagues are benefiting from this lockout , the crowds are bigger at every game I attend so far , that means more junior teams break even or make a profit this season ..

PS :: Christmas shopping has been done for us for over a month , we start real early every year , the last day for us is usually the Monday before Black Friday ..

Hate to see anyone catch colds or the flu. I'm going into my 4th year without . . . . finally smartened up and listened to a real doctor, the one with 2 Nobel Prizes.

So now you tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks FF, that's some good information from a guy who seems to know what he's talking about.

Feeling much better. I even got some temporary front teeth for Christmas. Will get the permanent ones in January after they check chew pattern and torque, along with bite pressure.

My family is grateful to the dentist for the temporary teeth. They were getting pretty damn tired of me singing,"All I want for Christmas is my four front teeth".

That would be the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth.

No need for cleaning up that statement. Also, no need for any fillings. Just the whole tooth, without a bridge to any other services. You could call it a crowning statement.

I guess that caps it off.

Looks like some of us old timers are falling apart , I woke up this morning and cant walk , my back is just giving me fits , both legs dont want too cooperate with me and I have a hockey game I want to attend this evening .
Come hell or high water I will be at that game , it may take me all day to get my legs under me but I WILL MAKE THEM WORK !!!

I have been told pain is just a state of mind , well I have had this happen to me before , and it will happen again , I have overcome this problem before and I will this time , the Irish in me just wont let me quit , just too stubborn I guess ..

Ya it's sad that our health has taken over our hockey discussions , but we just have gotten sick and tired of Bettman and the players and their circus act , I have not missed the NHL at all , I am enjoying some of the best junior hockey I have seen since the lockout of 04/05 .
I actually feel for the fans that dont have access to the hockey I do , they deserve better from the PPL that run the show , they just dont take into account that it is us the fans that pay the bills for them .
You beat a dog long enough and he will bite you sooner than later , you punish the PPL that pay your wages and sooner or later they will just stop the money flow ....

Rather than put a lot of crap up here, just to post, I thought if we had something we could all relate to, we would have a better chance of getting responses and some dialogue.

Like Fan said, talk of what Buttman and Fehr are up to is useless and pointless. Both sides seem to have forgotten about the people they work for. Make no mistake about it, if it weren't for the paying customers there would be no professional sports of any kind. With out pay for play, there wouldn't be professional athletes and no owners to pay them

This is the bottom line. The "Golden Goose", us, the fans, are starting to get tired of laying those money eggs for the players and owners. It seems neither side respects us or the work it takes for us to earn money to spend on their sport.

Instead of beating a dead horse about this all the time, I thought I would post something that would take our minds off of our miseries for awhile.

The owners just dont give a dam , they are multi millionaires and billionaires that own their teams as a hobby like I own a boat , my boat is not worth millions of dollars like their hobby is but it's still a hobby that I just wright off the cost of running every year just like they do their team's .
The thing I am getting at is I dont give a crap what my neighbour thinks about me owning a boat , it's none of his business that it was never put in the water this year , he didn't pay for it I did .
See where I am going with this ??

The owners will always have their income coming in from their business they had before they invested in their "HOBBY" that costs them to run , if that hobby is down for a year they save money like I did this year by not using my boat , the cost of dockage has gone through the roof (players salaries has done the same) , gas prices the same thing .

The thing is I saved a bundle by not pursuing my hobby this year , the Hockey team Owners are doing he same thing , they are saving a bundle this year by not running their hobby teams ..

With the Blues new ownership, I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. Tom Stillman is a true Blues 'fan' and really got caught up in all this bullsh!t. I can't fault him as a owner really. Plus if I don't follow the Blues for a year, that would be when they win the Cup with my luck.

I've totally given up hope for a 12-13 season. Really could care less at this point. Like the last lost season, I've just turned my attention elsewhere. The older I get, I become more cynical at millionaires bickering with billionaires about money. That goes for all the major sports. The NHL has essentially reduced itself to the level of candlepin bowling and the professional bull riders association in terms of popularity! I would find it difficult for the league to ever recover from this. But oh well, I still got hockey, UNH Wildcats are ranked #2 in the nation, Dartmouth is ranked #11. Plus the AHL.
