As stated above Domi was not just anonther HW, he was a top guy for many years. I think he was a bit stronger, had better balance and also imo a better chin not that Mirastays is bad but Domis was granite and honestly I never liked Domi. A former minor league teammate of mine who was a tough kid fought Domi in the NHL and said it was different than anyone he has ever fought. This guy was as tough pound for pound as there is out there and would fight anyone. He had around ten nhl fights and said that Domi was the strongest he had fought and that his grip strength was like none of the others he had fought. Take nothing away from Mirasty but Domi will go down as one of the toughest nhlers in history. In there primes its Domi for me, handily......

I'll say one thing, the trash talking in this fight series would be unreal. Hell, if you were going to mic up two fighters for a game, it would be these two. It'd probably be a lot more than Georges Laraque's "good luck"

It would depend if they went toe to toe then I would favour Mirasty or if Domi got Mirasty in his spin cycle then I'd go with Domi.. But in a 10 fight series I'd have Domi winning it..

Maybe 5 Domi wins / 2 draws / 3 Mirasty wins.

I've seen a few people on here saying the tough guys are in the NHL because they are tougher than the Minor league fighters and the NHL guys would come out on top... I don't agree with this because guys like Sugden, Yablonski, Mirasty, Bosse and others would be able to give any of the NHL heavyweights a good fight, and beat a lot of them..

It is also to do with playing ability...

I think that posters are too dismissive of Myrasty - the dude sports at 220lbs and has been fighting virtual behemoths his entire career - he has victories over some extremely tough competition: D. Boogard, Josh Gratton, Bialowas, Robidas, Westgarth, Lessard, Bissonette, etc...

But Domi had numerous victories over all the top names of his era. Besides Boogaard, all the players you named are nowhere close to being Top 10 fighters.

I would agree with the earlier post that Domi would take 8 out of 10 against Mirasty with the other 2 being draws.

Domi wouldn't stand there and trade with Mirasty. Mirasty seems to get better the more he is hit. Domi is the same way, however he doesn't fire off the punches as fast. I see Domi using his superior strength controlling Mirasty with his right, and drilling him with the left. A little spin cycle from Domi, and Mirasty tumbles to the ice.

Win Domi.

Your out of your mind of course they would have. back in the 70's 80's look at the punches that they took you rarely so Ko's now it's just waiting for 1 punch add 20pds. to the older fighter's and then see what you think because they would weigh heavier in this day and age, so get off the he has him outweighed by 20pds. it would not happen. Geez what would happen O'reilly against Biz how can you compare that easy O'reilly 10-0 older player's would have a field day

Can anyone translate this?

Domi all the way. Can't compare a career minor leaguer to a consistent top 5 NHLer. Besides..am I wrong or didn't Mirasty get knocked out about 6 times by the same guy? The same MINOR league guy I might add. Domi got hurt a couple times, but never kayoed and he fought the best of the best over and over.

I think the fly in the oinment for Domi regarding Myrasty is that Domi's seeming bewilderment with smaller guys

Mirasty is a block head and would be outclassed and put to shame by Domi. No question about this.
I think the real question here(from your video) is how would a prime Trevor Gillies match up against Domi? Those would be some great battles!

Not just smaller guys, but also guys who threw with a "piston punch" style. Domi looked off against guys like Odgers, Berube, McCarty, etc. who just stood there and threw quick punches, rather then trying to tee off with haymakers.

Doesn't matter how long Domi was a very effective NHL tough guy for, nor does it matter who he beat. Styles often make fights, and Domi didn't like Mirasty's style much.

I'd still give Tie the nod, but this 10 fight series would be closer than a lot of people think.

Domi 5-3-2.

I don't think it is that cut and dry, Most of Mirasty's fights are nothing more than two guys standing there throwing punches, Domi is never going to just stand there and exchange with him the same way most do. that is where Domi will simply outclass him and use his experience and skills to put him to shame. Mirasty will not be able to handle Domi's spin cycle coupled with equal effectiveness with both hands, Mirasty has one good hand and no defense. This will amount to a good schooling from Tie.
As far as a series is concerned, Domi will take it 7-0-3
