No disrespect to Brad May, loved everything he brought but his fights vs Todd Gill, showed the world he just might have been outgunned by the smaller man in the speed department. All close wars but a 30lb weight advantage for May.

You would have to watch this fight in slow-mo to count them, "Hammer" Fleming?? in an era where guys made "the show" on fighting ability alone, I dont think Fleming ever saw a game in the NHL........

Those looked like 1 punch knockdowns, certainly no indicator of amazing hand speed but rather some serious power or Tomlinson having a glass jaw.

I sometimes get an overwhelming feeling that some posters are somehow family members (best friends or even the player himself) of players they mention......With Bob Fleming?? there is far too little footage of the guy to be mentioned with alltime "speed demons" like Berube, Gill, May, etc....Kirk Thomlinson wasnt exactly the champ.

Apparently my jestful post was taken a bit more serious than I intended it to be............the only NHL action Fleming even saw was preseason for the Sabres and he only saw that because of his style of play..........

Hell, I didnt even want to post but I just couldnt resist........there are far to many pillow hand puchers with speed to mention..... John Kordic comes to my mind first followed by Jay miller and Alan May.....they could throw fast but no real damage.............and if you go back aways, Dennis Polonich fits here too.
How about Bridgeman?? Really quick but did he ever really hurt anyone.

If your looking at guys with some power and speed then I also give the nod to the likes of Gill and Berube.......would the mighty Bob Nystrom fit here maybe.............

On the off-subject of quick hands, i always thought Shayne Corson could be added to the list we have going. Kimble was another one if he's not been called yet.

Would definitely agree about Gill, May, Kordic and Berube. Another couple guys with great hand speed would be Nystrom, and Darrin Kimble.

I think Jack Mcllhargey deserves mention as far as fast hands go, not a lot of power but he could throw em, looking like Charlie Manson was icing on the cake.

Fast hands? Check these 2 cats out!

YouTube - Darin Kimble vs Serge Roberge

Serge only had 1 NHL fight against Ken Baumgartner but man could he throw!!! One video I couldn't find was him dismantling Wayne Van Dorp and Wayne trying to shake the cobwebs loose after eating about 15 or 20 Roberge punches.

Kimble could really throw too and cut his teeth fighting the likes of Twist, Gaetz, Rudy P and all hose scary fockers in the WHL.

Here is Roberge scoring a TKO against Big Jim Kyte. Super fast hands and power to boot.

I see alot of mention of Kimble here and although I never saw it, I read that he was destroyed in St. Louis by none other than Todd Gill!!

Some nice recent calls like "wolfman" Mcilhargey and minor league legend Serge Roberge. Mario Roberge and Val James were quick as well.

A bit out of left field but personal favorite, Mark Janssens was very fast as well. Such an intriguing style. Ambidextrous, good at extending his arms to full reach and using either hand with much better than average speed. Big time open fighter who seemed suited to using these abilities to even better advantage but he seemed too willing to care.

Similar guys, Shane Churla and Rick Tocchet had some speed as well.
