Wow what a Crap year
Wow how amazingly shi**y has this year been. We have a champ that has all of 5 wins, which before 2000 would not even qualify him for top 15 let alone champ. We have the #5 and #6 guys who have a combined 7 wins. Thats correct incase you though you misread it 7 wins. Godard at # 6 for 3 wins, the only remote reason I can think of this is that he beat Boogard.....oh wow lets give him the the #6 for that. His other wins......lol.... Boulton and Konopka..What an outstanding year. this is getting to much to bear. I am going to start naming MW's as my top ten guys next year since only about 5 of the HW's this year fought enough anyway.
I dont like to crown a champion that is unwilling to fight. I voted for Brash but as usual BGL takes the crown. Perhaps the worst champion, if you want to call him that, in the history of Hockey fighting. Laraque 5-0-3 Wow what a Champion. |

excellent post!!!!!
but their is one name missing!!!!! garry unger!!!remember him??????? no one and i mean no one wanted to fight this guy!!!!!!! he could go with the best of them and he was not a big man (185-195 i beleave)!!!!! best fight i ever saw was him and derik sanderson when they both played JRA....... toe to toe for a good six minutes(no clutch and grab) after the scrap the fans gave both players a standing ovation for longer than the scrap laeted..... in my opinion this was the best i ever saw and anyone that was their that night will agree!!!!!!! |

TopTen-Fighters(-01-02 regular season+playoffs) :
1.P.Worrell(fought with all, a high win% and a cood, better card than -00-01 year, though)
2.D.Brashear(beat Domi twice, won McCarthy in long, but more dull fight) 3.R.Low(a very good season, full of wins) 4.G.Laraque(Pro-Hockey magazine did put Laraque for the champion, but i don't, because got dropped by Shelley for example, not of a surprisingly wins over Sawyer) 5.T.Domi(won Cairns and McKenzie, draw agianst champion) 6.S.Peat(toe to toe man, soldi season) 7.E.Cairns(stong season, won McCarthy) 8.S.McCarthy(quite good season, dropped Hordichuk) 9.P.J.Stock(toe to toe man, put always a good show despite of loses or wins the fight) 10.C.McCallister(beat Simon for example and Peat) Honourable mentions: 1.P.Laus(beat Probert and got the edge over Downey in the same game, TKO's Hordi, **** fights against 2 heavy M.Johnson and D.Langdon, both a draws though) 2.S.Parker(about "rollercoaster", a solid win and nasty loss way) 3.J.Shelley(a lot of fights from him, you see his and Probert serie) 4.D.Hordichuk(good shows) 5.R.Ray(schools Stock, won Bonvie, just narrow loss to Cairns, but too uneven for the topten fighters now, though) 6.K.Sawyer(i have to noticed him, because he fought with all and got couple/few big wins, for example over Berube) You comments and own list? My Top10 list(from -02-03 regular season+playoffs) :
1.G.Laraque(putting his typical shows beating Low and Hordichuk soundly, big win over Cairns)
2.P.Worrell(BigPete schooled Boulton, some very impressive bouts like Downey,Shelley and Cairns) 3.D.Brashear(a strong season again, loses to Cairns, but scores a good win over Peat2x) 4.E.Cairns(uneven bit, but solid season) 5.W.Belak(you see his fights against Laraque2x, Worrell1x, Boulerice1x and McCarthy1x) 6.J.Shelley(convincing work by "BadAss" for example scoring win over Laraque, toe to toe man you see his fights against Berube3x) 7.T.Domi(maybe too high rank, gives welcomes to Godard, won Ray and you have to see also his playoffs-fight against Brashear) 8.T.Fedoruk(ouch! got beated by Godard and Ray, but TKO's Johnson and Brennan) 9.J.McKenzie(some convincing shows) 10.R.Low(lost to fighters who should to win, like Nazarov and Dingman, beat May, won Johnson? you see his maratonbout against Langdon) Honourable mentions: 1.J.Boulerice(too uneven, weak for the Top10 fighters at this time, sorry) 2.P.J.Stock(some good shows, against Peat, Henry and Odgers) 3.F.Lessard(not bad choice to Top10, but maybe too little fights, did win Cairns?) 4.E.Godard(another rookie like Lessard, puts solid shows like his fights against Worrell, Stock and Godard) 5.D.Langdon(it was even insult if you don't give HM for Langer, because he won Worrell once and maybe twice?) You comments and own list? Downey was also good this year. He didn't get beated against Worrell, almost a draw. He beated, KO'd Boulerice and won Simon edging him. I think he deserved a HM at least. #4 Laraque: edge/loss #2 Johnson: draw #7 Belak: edge/win #5 Parker: edge/loss #2 Johnson: draw #2 Johnson: loss #10 brookbank: TKO loss #10 brookbank: draw Thats it: 1-4-3 against top 10 competition. If he ate up the rest of the league, maybe I'd agree, but he still found time to lose to Downey, Reed Low, and others. Lastly, none of his fights were all that good. Many were sloppy and short. I dont see how that adds up to a top 10 season, much less #4. Perhaps he was a valuable enforcer and definitely exciting because of constant activity, but not all that impressive IMO. Other than that I think any chances from my lists to yours are nitpicks more or less... Quote:
