Legendary cases of Retribution
Cam Neely vs Scott Kleinendorst comes to mind, they meet early in the game and Kleinendorst KO's Neely with a huge right hand, seemingly before Cam was ready, later in the game Neely rip's like a train into the guy like he killed his mother leaving him down and leaking like a tap. = score evened.
Another classic line from Derek Sanderson "He threw a punch out of protection", bwahahaha!! It doesnt have to be in the same game but let's hear what stands out as the alltime redemptions in hockey??

McCarty vs Lemieux is the first one that comes to mind.
Another is Probert vs Domi Round II. In fact, you could make a whole thread with Probert revenge fights.

My personal fave - the veteran Jay Wells coming back for round 2 and taking it to a young Brad May after May nearly knocked him out in an earlier fight that same game. Two of my fave fights right there, Wells was looking for some justice there, thats for sure.
Another one that comes to mind is the number Donald Brashear did on Chris Murray when he was with the Hurricanes in 1998. Murray had splattered Scott Walker's nose in a fight earlier in the game, and Brash made him attone for it in a very lopsided bout. Had to give Murray a ton of credit for standing in there, way out of his weightclass too. And speaking of Walker - his battles with Michel Petit after Petit's suckerpunch left Scotty oozing in blod during a line brawl in 1998 were pretty fun to watch too.

Melnyk and Nilan did nice jobs taking on Brown after his Sandstrom cheapshots.
I guess Probey going after Domi at MSG was probably the ultimate.

A recent one that was hyped up prior, and to me was enjoyable was Belak and Janssens for Cam's hit on Kaberle.

I don't know if I would consider all of these cases of retribution, "legendary." Hardly in fact. Oh well. Some Jason Weimer from 2001/2002.
FLORIDA - BUFFALO A tough middle weight in Weimer instigates and takes it to a young pu55y in Taylor Pyatt. I don't know what Pyatt did to get Weimer mad, but the announcer suggests a hit of some kind on Ivan Novoseltsev. Eric Boulton didn't like the mismatch and let's Weimer know with a jumping and knuckles to the face later in the game. Weimer skates off leaking. A month later Weimer was looking to avenge the jumping, but Boulton KO/TKO's him badly. From the players bench Peter Worrell looking for retribution suggests to Boulton (in the sin bin) that perhaps they should meet up. Boulton tells Worrell he'll get put to sleep too like Weimer. The two meet up a period later with Boulton quickly losing his balance and then turtling like a b1tch. Worrell mocks Boulton for "hiding" on his way to and in the box. ================== Toronto - Florida Darcy Tucker absolutely blasts Pavel Bure into the boards with a huge hit, knocking him out of action for a while with a concussion and less teeth in his mouth. A bit later Brad Ference convinces Tucker to answer for the hit, and proceeds to pound the much smaller Tucker to the ice. Not satisfied with their revenge on him yet though (this was an angry Florida team from '01/'02) later in the game Jason Weimer butt ends Tucker in the face as he is skating up ice, knocking him unconscious. Tucker missed a few games due to the same headaches he caused Pavel Bure, and Jason Weimer was suspended 7 games for the butt end. It didn't end there. A month and change later the teams met again. With Jason Weimer back in the lineup, Tie Domi had a word with him. A broken nose later, Weimer got the point (actually, he did better than I figured he would).

The hockey gods demonstrated the ultimate act of "retribution" the night Steve Sullivan was cut with a high stick in Colorado and mocked by an Avs fan.
