No, never. All he does is parrott everything bigjack says while adding absolutely zero to the discussion or topic at hand.

McKegney nails a shot on Wilson and drops him and no it's Wilson slipped! Are we gonna hear the excuse that Wilson was young and it was unfair for Fotiu to fight him like we always get?
I remember Guy Lapointe who was not a fighter like McKegney land a shot on Cashman who now all of a sudden is Bob Probert and Dave Brown rolled into one and he is also slipping and Lapointe gets no credit like McKegney gets no credit!
The bias here is amazing!
Wow what bias coming from some of these posts!
Truly amazing!

Yeah many of those guys weren't exactly a who's who of top 5 fighters! Even in the 1980 playoffs, who was Cashman fighting?
Gillies or 5'9" 175 pound Toy Tiger Garry Howatt?
Wasn't it Howatt?

Bigjack I love ya man but no one claimed Cashman was probert or Brown. Talk about exagerration on your part haha. And yes if you can't see Wilson CLEARLY stepping on a stick in that video, you need to get your eyesight checked. it's a hockey fight and sometimes that happens. I know it doesn't fit into your anti Wilson agenda but it's true. I don't think anyone has ever claimed that Wilson was dropped in that fight in hockey fight board history.

Lapointe landed a good shot on Cashman in that fight, I've said a few times already in this thread what are you talking about? If you're saying he dropped Cashman, then that is debateable because you can see cashman trip over his own teammate. It is what it is. Lets not get carried away here.

I see this thread has run it's course with comments like this and BBBB's. Objectivity is sorley lacking in this forum with this kind of rabble rousing and pot stirring going on. How come we can't debate a topic intelligently? instead if you disagree with BJ, your biased? WOW.

man you must be hurting when you are playing up to the biggest fraud on the site. Please don't encourage him, bigjack. he is ruining this board with his nonsense.

The only bias I see is coming from two NY ranger homers who have proven over and over again that they cannot be counted on to debate a topic objectively. Mckegney did fine in his fight with wilson-why make it something it wasn't and say he dropped him? that is the height of bias on this site. Lapointe landed a good shot and cut open cashman, but you can see him trip over a Bruins leg. It's right there in the clip! My goodness this board is going downhill with these kind of posts.

Did Tony McKegney land some good shots and one great shot or not? Heck even Bobby Taylor was pretty objective for a Flyers announcer back in the day!

Agree- we need more intelligent debate and less bickering.

Srehm again my friend it is laughable what these two try to pass off as knowledge. They look on drop your gloves site for Cashmans card and make fun of it . Who is Picard , Ley, Mohns etc but don't look at Ferguson and Kurtenbach's cards, who they know so much about . Who are the top 5 fighters on their cards.? Fergy fought Green,Fleming, and just like Cashman anyone else. Same with Kurtenbach his big bouts are with Harris then its Baun,Watson ,Harper just like Cash. Again back then there was no designated fighters. Kurt and Fergy along with Harris were considered the top guys just like Cash was for a period of time. Their cards are not littered with players that you 2 would know because you know NOTHING about that period. Look at their cards and ask the same stupid questions. BJ you know soooo much about Fergy and Kurt name the fighters on their cards. Go ahead you can look on DYG. Their cards are so great ?

Here's what I can add about slipping on sticks, jerseys ,etc..:

Probert - Semenko 2 (in DET) Semenko slips on Probie's jersey after the fight and falls leading some to believe that Sammy was staggered..nope..just a trip on the jersey.

Crowder- Probert 1 (in NJ) Probie clearly steps on Crowder's stick at the beginning...

Wilson - McKegney ..I always thought that Wilson slipped on a stick.

Point is ..there are tons of examples where things happen...over the yrs you could see players (if they had time) get the fallen equipment out of the way so they don't trip. The moment you do you're at a disadvantage. I'm surprised it didn't happen a lot more.

BJ, I watched most of that series with the NYI -BOS Cashman was not avoiding Gillies at all. ..but when you get suckered by a guy (even if he's 5-7 ) what would you do BJ ???

I watched Cash plenty back then and he was one of the few guys on the Bruins that Larry Robinson wouldn't go near...he got a lot of room..always did. Partially because of his stick work but also his rep as a fighter.

I've been watching the Bruins since 1969 and didn't like them because of their gang metality but Cashman was always in the top 5 fighter each year right up to the mid 1970's. McKenzie was a punk. AWrey was a good fighter in his earlier days as previous stated but seem to lose it once he left Boston. Cashman took on everybody back then and usually won.

Irresponsible argument Jack. You know that Cashman was never a designated tough guy, he was a good hockey player that played tough and fought some. You'd have killed to have a guy like Cashman with the Rangers, he would have made them a lot better. Cashman fought Howatt because Howatt ran Cashman's teammate headfirst Armstrong into the boards, from behind. That's being a good teammate. It's not like Howatt was some blushing violet. He was as tough a guy as there was in the league, pound for pound:

Wayne Cashman vs Garry Howatt Round 1 -...

Later in the game there was a Bench clearing brawl, and Howatt suckered Cashman. Cashman came back and gave him a beating. Here's a partial clip:

Wayne Cashman vs Garry Howatt Round 2 NO SOUND ...

And the reason he wasn't fighting Gillies was: a) Gillies was better
B) Gillies fought O'Reilly twice

Still no comment from you on Fotiu's poor card. Gillies isn't on Fotiu's card either. And Nystrom beat Fotiu. What about Fotiu's crosscheck and head butts on Cunningham?

Sure sign of one losing his argument/cool is when they interject non-combatants into the mix and then they lambaste the indirect object. The topic is Cashman and his card, not Ferguson, not Fotiu, - There is a call for rationale debate here - so, you can either address the statement or not.

My language regarding Cashman was unfortunate. My point was I thought he was being lauded as a wrecking machine ala the greats - I watched him many times and admired his game, one tough hombre - However, conspicuous by their absence on his card is anyone of note which would suggest that he stepped up - nothing more nothing less

Lets clear the air here. If I saw 98% of Ranger games back then and you were watching 98% of Bruins games - who is more apt to be a more responsible/reliable eye-witness? ----- Save the Saturday matinee once a year - and one or two NBC games of the week my visibility of the bruins was limited. But not with the Rangers - Channel 9 WOR, WNEW radio with Marv Albert - I saw and witnessed just about all of the Rags with Fotiu - So, you ask about his card - The point has been hammered home numerous times - Its not that you and others can't accept the explanation that I and many others have provided, but rather, you won't accept it! - To that there is no speaking your mind is made up - The dude had no takers, he was not a trouble maker, as long as there was relative peace on the ice, that was the end of it. You can berate me all you want, but thats the way it was. Now, if you were an eye-witness to Cashman's game in game out - I am all ears

Last I checked, the topic was Wensink/Fotiu.
