Has anyone bailed more than Chris Simon?

The guy was labelled as a "power forward" coming up and was involved in the infamous Lindros trade. He could fight alright when he was ahead, but when the going got tough, did anyone hit the deck quicker? Going through his fights, it seems every time he was going to take some punches, he would pull the chute.

Look at these for evidence:

Against a real power forward in Tocchet:

Rick Tocchet welcomes Chris Simon to the NHL -...

McAllister hurts him, so down he goes!

Chris Simon vs Chris McAllister Round 2 - YouTube

Janssens is loose, so Simon goes down:

Chris Simon vs Mark Janssens Round 1 - YouTube

Don't hit me anymore Mr Parker!

Chris Simon vs Scott Parker - YouTube

Bails against John Erskine:

Chris Simon vs John Erskine Jan 12, 2006 - YouTube

Once again to Laraque:

Simon vs Laraque Apr 1, 2006 - YouTube

Can't hit the ice fast enough against Chara:

Chris Simon vs Zdeno Chara Round 2 - YouTube

Lands a few against Boogard than realizes he might get tagged. Hits Deck:

Chris Simon vs Derek Boogaard Jan 14, 2006 -...

The one thing they all have in common? They're all against good fighters that had him in bad spots or were rallying in their fights. I'd say Simon is right up there when you talk about guys with no heart. When the going got tough, Simon was going down usually... Something he did for his entire career, even during his "no fight years" in Washington.

Can't blame him. I wouldn't want to get rocked either!

Anyway...Chara bails...a lot.

That's true. What's also true is:

In the following season when he played 75 games he had 6 fights.

In the season after that in 60 games he had ZERO fights.

In the season after that in 82 games he had 11 fights, 2 of which he bailed against McCallister and Chara. He did manage to find Chris Dingman, Dan Lacouture, and Chris Neil a bunch of times though that year.

So yeah 17 fights over 217 games, including a year he pitched a shutout.

Maybe Simon was hurt even when he was playing those years but I really don't know. I never thought of Chris Simon as unwilling, that I do know. However, you may be on to something with the bails. I always thought he bailed on that Boogard fight and there were a couple others in the videos posted that look suspicious. I don't think he bailed against Janssens or McAllister. He went toe2toe, lefts vs rights, against Parker. He may have went down easily after Parker out muscled him but that was a pretty good scrap. I have seen him go at it with some big boys and not bail but he may have some Brashear in him after all.

Mike Rupp seems to like to bail when the going gets tough.
I remember Ken Belanger (after several concussions) bailing out in some fights.
Chara in a lot of fights (Laraque, Brashear, Hordichuk, B Brown, Neil, Shelley, )
Brashear (Domi, Boogaard, Parker,Cairns,)
Laraque (if you count takedowns as bailing, he went for them whenever he was in trouble)

The whole premise of the thread is infantile as you can taste the venom. Don't take the bait - Had the thread been presented thusly: Fighters that bailed the most it would have made logical sense. Its simply an attempt for you to join him in his I hate Simon because he whooped Brown repeatedly tirade. Daft! Predictable! BTW: Objectively speaking the first guys I think of in the broader scope is Vukota, Brashear

BBBB-Can't we say the same for your anti-wilson/kocur/brown rants? Where is the objectivity there?

Is Dave Brown mentioned anywhere by anyone other than you? You really are obsessed! I worded the topic the way I chose, you don't dictate how any of my topics are written. It's a genuine topic about a player who had no heart when taking punches with almost 10 examples provided. Either contribute something other than your usual drivel or don't post. Very simple.

Wow, I'd say that's solid evidence ILB. Never realized he was such a bailer. Those were embarassingly obvious bails, and should be considered as evidence to support the claim that Simon shouldn't sniff the top ten. The only other bails I would compare are some of Brashears.

Funny you should mention that, because even in "whooping Brown" Chris Simon finds time to bail out and fall to the ice.

SIMON vs BROWN 2

SIMON vs BROWN 1

Care to explain?

Too Funny that you won't address the actual topic. Why is Simon bailing on these fights? Scared to get hit? Surely he has to be penalized in ranking for that? He does bail in the second Brown fight for sure. No comment about that one? Scared to discuss Simon's tendencies?

As far as the KHL goes, he's had 3 fights where he hasn't jumped some nameless Russian over the past 97 games. Same old Simon, fights brave when he lays over the competition. Bails when he's in against the best. You could call him Cheeseburger Chris lately, he looks to have put on 25 lbs.

Funny you pick on Chris Simon, ILB. I always thought he wasn't worth his weight in dog sh*t.
