That bout with Tocchet was impressive. Markwart never impressed much but trading with Tocchet... damn.

Mcphee was a guy i wondered about when i saw him nominated in pound for pound threads until i watched some video on him. Tough as overcooked cheap steak. He fought balls to the wall and gave a good account of himself on virtually all occasions. An entertaining guy to watch clips of. I'm starting to think he's underrated and certainly deserving of those nominations.

It's a bit early as far as recalling particulars but he did so well in battling bob nystrom (to about a draw) that bobby headbutted him. The only one sided loss i recall was against Dave Brown in the scrap where george was pissed at the linesman for holding him up while the much bigger brown was freed up.

Tough as nails.

Markwart was actually a simular type player as McPhee (smaller, tough, good handspeed, etc) not as good a fighter, but he was a scrappy undersized guy -- i think he had shoulder problems that put an end to his career early, but he was a gritty player 4 sure

McPhee was a ballz out tough winger, if your a physical hockey fan going back to the 1980s or so you are well aware of this guy and what he brought to the game, his career was also cut short by injuries as well (Simular to Markwart) he had a underrated scrap with Hospodar of the Rangers during the playoffs as well. There was a story floating around that Hospodar was yapping with Brry Beck of the Rags and Barry told him STFU before i get McPhee on you again (or something simular to that effect)

Tough ballzy player, wish he played longer

a true fireplug.
Even as a GM i remember the story from no to long ago where he started a brawl in the hallway after a Cap Hawks preseason affair.

Bennett, I believe McPhee was fighting John Kordic in that one where the linesman held him, allowing Kordic a free hand. McPhee was so pissed, I thought he was gonna wail on the linesman.

No, I'm pretty sure Kordic fairly caught McPhee and as the linesmen came in he was still throwing while McPhee was getting his bearings back......

I had a crazy dream last night about a feud between Domi and George, they ended up fighting and McPhee kicked his ass but Domi was trying real hard to get back at him.
