Think I have this fight on a tape. I know I've seen it in it's entirety and couldn't believe Unger took it to the Hammer. Don't make me feel old, I was a kid when it happened too.

Yeah, basically the end of Richter as a fighter. Butchered him up pretty good with some quick punches right on the beak.

On paper that is the toughest Blues team I can remember. They had 3 legit heavies.

Ewen
Richter
Coxe

They also had plenty of secondary guys

Raglan
Ramage
M.Hunter
Norwood

I was saying Oh god Cashman's gonna get killed. Major upset being Cashman was on his way out and Howatt was on top of his game. Great quick comeback from basically getting suckered.

Great fight, especially considering the circumstances. A total jump by Howatt who actually wanted to fight Jonathan who was fighting Bob Lorimer.

A complete sucker job but much to Howatt's surprise, he would regret it big time.

It was late in Cashman's career as you said but there was no way he was going to let that happen in front of "His home crowd".

This may have been Cashman best career fight to boot!

What a great series, one of my favorites.

Purinton thought he get the jump but turned into Cummins punching bag in the end. Purinton was a dirty player so its nice to see him get his medicine.

riley cote's win over mcg was huge and players even mentioned after the game it really inspired them. however, i think cote dropping roy might be the "fight of his career". it made like #3 on sportscenters top 10 the next day.

To me it was the late Rick Rypien taking apart Boris Valabik. Just watching the 6'8" Valabik tower over the 5'9" Rypien almost laughing saying "really little man?", and then watching Rypien take him apart made me say "wow, that Rypien is one bad dude".

I realize Valabik wasn't that great of a fighter, but he did have almost a foot and 80 pounds on Ryien and did beat Shawn Thornton and had a pretty even bout with Zdeno Chara that year.

I'm almost ashamed to say until that fight I didn't know much about Rick Rypien, but after that he became a personal favorite.

LOL

Just what we need in the remember when section, another Brashear apologist.

He slipped on a banana peel, he had something in his eye, he stepped on a stick, he was off balance, his shoulder hurt, he had the crabs, blah, blah, blah.

We see enough of that shyt in the fight threads but thanks for your contribution.

PS: He got owned by Doug Doull.

TKO win by Doull. Nice, Brashear didn't even touch him.

Let's see what the come back is.
