Spider, I watched that fight quite a few times. Val James was a handful for anybody. John Kordic was an elite fighter, who took a backseat to nobody. There weren't many guys who could stand up to Val James, but Kordic was one guy who could go toe to toe with James or anyone else. That was a great fight between two talented fighters. I've heard about guys seeing a tape of a battle in the minors between James and Probert, but have never seen it myself.

Todd Gill.

Darin Kimble.

They fought each other and I read in the Toronto Star that Gill beat the tar out of Kimble, have yet to see footage.

John Kordic, Todd Gill are the first two that come to mind. Great call earlier on Mike Keane! Not the fastest but honorable mention to Bob McGill who seemed to be able to trade toe to toe with a lot of speed merchants, Jay Miller too.

Problem is, Jay Miller couldn't bruise a peach.

Kimble was the best. Churla was great, too.

When Val James got recalled for a brief stay with the Sabres he fought Terry O'Reilly with the Bruins in a slugfest. I have to give the W to James. Very fast hand speed and O'Reilly was no slouch throwing punches!

McPhee fights with Tocchet were great and the fists were flying. Kimble had a great punchout with Kordic and one of his best was against a "very hot" Troy Crowder. Miller could not keep up with Kordic but he was very game. Always had problems with him for that reason. Great picks.
