The Dream Fight

Given the fact that we here at HF.COM come from the 4 points of North America and beyond and, we all have our favorites growing up. we are all Homers to one extent or another. Now, take all that and wipe it aside......What would be THE most anticipated, desired, dream hockey fight of ALL TIME? I see hints here with Gillies/Fotiu (one of my most desired and dreamed about fights) Then there are the Brown/Wilson guys - Kocur/Wilson - etc....

Be completely relieved that it does not have to involve the top 3 or 5 as we disagree about this. Also do not let different eras prevent you from making that dream fight. - Who is it that would (once and for all ) satisfy all your anticipation, desires, and dreams for THE FIGHT?

From a Ranger's fan point of view I would say Fotiu-Gillies though the more I try to visualize it the more I see a boring fight.

So my pick would be Probert-Wilson.

I'd love to see Stan go for the leg takedown in that one.

Hey-hey-hey, wait a minute! I don't think the size differential matters all that much! I mean, STAN JONATHAN took on and BEAT bigger men, like Bouchard and Hillworth. SO WHAT if Kong was one-hundred-and-ten feet tall, and weighed forty-seven tons? I still say The Little Bulldog takes 8-of-10 from Kong, with maybe one draw. OKAY, so maybe Kong's got the reach- "Little Blue" would STILL be able to get inside, switch hands on him, AND get the single-leg take-down! WHY??? -Because Don Cherry says so, that's why! Furthermore: who'd Kong ever beat, answer me THAT. -A few dinosaurs, maybe a giant snake or two, and those Fokker tri-planes around the Empire State Building- which, if you'll notice, happens to be in NEW YORK. -Who'd Kong ever beat in BAAAAHHHHSTUNNNN??? Hunh??

Growing up in NY I would say Fotiu/Beck vs Nystrom/Gillies in any combination.....I still find it amazing that none of them every fought during the awesome Ranger/Islander rivalry of the 70's & 80's....Lotta respect...Although Nystrom beat up Nicky after he was traded to Hartford....
