Nope. The Flyers have had some of the toughest ever and Lindros while big and strong was not one of them. If he would of went the enforcer route it would of really worn on him fighting all the monsters of his era. I think he would of turned into a Mike Rupp and not like to get hit and bail out when it's convenient.

I'd put him in the same mold as a Clark, Neeley, Tocchet, Tkachuk, guys who could skate, score, hit, and fight sometimes and those guys could all fight well but aren't in the same mold as say, Dave Brown.
Wendel Clark and Rick Tocchet are closer to Dave Brown than they are to Cam Neely and Keith Tkachuk.

The way Lindros played, with that nasty edge, guys wanted to kill him when he first started and he made it clear that it wasn't going to happen, the kid could fight.

And yeah, he beat Simon. If every other thread is going to have Simon edging Dave Brown in it, it's pretty safe to say that Lindros beat Simon.

I agree with you. But just think of if he was groomed from the start to be an enforcer. All that ice time gone with enforcer minutes, and focusing purely on fighting without any of the pressure or draft issues, wouldn't have worn on him. Who knows what could have been if Lindros was an enforcer since day 1, he could hang with anyone already naturally.

I have bias though, Lindros has been a fav of mine since we were about 11-12. Grew up in the same town, worked out with him on numerous occasions. All I can say is, as most know, but most really just don't understand how strong this guy was naturally. Freakishly strong.

Thats true all of his concussion issues came from skating with his head down never from a punch although that doesnt mean he couldnt have.

From what I can remember of Eric Lindros from his junior hockey days he would back down from no one .
Only two players in my time watching the OHL ever drew such interest in a hockey game that every time they played in your building that arena would be filled to the rafters , I have seen the old London Gardens 6-7 deep in standing room the building was so full , if the fire-marshal ever walked in he would have closed the place down it was that much over capacity , that two players where Eric Lindros and Wayne Gretzky .

But to answer your question . a big "NO" !!!!!

Can't recall him losing any other fights off the top of my head. He fought a lot of scrubs though. Certainly had the size and ability to be a force if he wanted to go that route.
I thought McSorley really picked his spot there. He instigated right at the end of back-to-back power plays where Lindros had been out a lot. McSorley gets the tainted win.

Lindros was without a doubt the best fighter/player combination the Flyers have ever had, but it would have been a waste for him to fight genuine fighters like Brown Brashear etc.
