Bob Nystrom vs Shawn Thornton, best of 7?

Another thread inspired me to open up this hypothetical debate.....

Both roughly the same size, Thornton with about 10 to 20 lb weight advantage and a guy who fought all the "monsters" of the last 10 years. If there was a "physical advantage" held by Nystrom here?? I would say it was his reach, he seemed to have very long arms, I remember seeing him in the "Superstars" competition in the 70's and he was very lean but not a heavily muscled man.

Thornton is listed at 6'2" in most guides but I know he's not that tall.

One common intangible they both possess is "heart".

Let's hear it!!

I'm inclined to go with Nystrom with 3 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws.

I think it would be VERY entertaining!

I'm betting Nystrom takes the series.

Wow I see most avoided this thread like the plague!! There was a method to my madness here as it all relates to this 70's vs now subject that is so debatable.....

However, so far Nystrom seems to be the easy winner. As Thornton fought and handled some of the great beasts of the modern age yet succumbs to the "Hammer's of Thor", I say Nystrom and the old guard would easily have hung and flung with the Laraque's and Boogaard's of today!
