All-Time Worst Mismatches

Whatever the reason, the timing, the incident, these guys went at it and it was clearly no contest before the gloves every came off.

Before they started, you wanted to throw in the white flag.

What fights come to mind when you think of All-Time worst mismatches?

I'll start things off with a famous brawl between the Islander and Flyers when Behn Wilson jumps Mike Bossy. Not only was Big Behn pounding on Bossy but he wouldn't stop until Bob Nystrom and Gary Howatt come of the bench to jump in.

Let's hear some of yours!

A few off the top of my head. Kocur's beatdown of Delgarno/ rookie bust Shayne Stevenson getting pummeled by Baumgartner/ and both Jay Miller and LB working over Berube in the same game. And any Brent Hughes/ Stephen Leach fight. So many others though im forgetting.

Keving Maguire going after Steve Yzerman has to rank up there. Yzerman made a valiant effort to get some back in return however.. some serious balls/lunacy on Maguire's part to do that with Bob Probert on the ice.

He also absolutley creamed Wings' goalie Greg Stefan with a hit on the same play.

Did not get to see Philly often...

1988-1989 got to see Chychrun against Rangers and thought he was very good. Had seen Crowder in Utica and once or twice on the tube in the 1987-88 Devil Playoff run, thought he was big but slow and goofy

Think this happened the next year. Would have bet on Chychrun when the gloves dropped, sure got that wrong...

Troy Crowder vs Jeff Chychrun Oct 11, 1990 -...

From my days watching the Whalers - think I had seen Gino only once [if I recall correctly ESPN vs. Hawks Cam Russell]. Rarely saw Kastellic clearly win, and was always afraid when the Bruins came in that Byers would land one of the upper-cuts he threw at Ed. This one I got right, and not as bad a beating as I expected...

Gino Odjick vs Ed Kastelic - RD.1,2 - YouTube

All the best.

Admittedly he went on to be a tough fighter, but here a young Cam Neely does the front crawl against a prime Joey Kocur.. I think Kocur stopped because he'd hurt his hand? You can hear it thumping against Neely's helmet.

Too bad Carcillo couldn't be as brave with Colton Orr! He's ducking him for years!
