All-Time Best Lefty-Righty Tandems
They came at you one way, they came at you another. These two teamates may have primarily thrown with different arms but they were the best lefty-righty combo of all-time.
Who would you say was the best of the best? Terry O'Reilly/Stan Jonathan? Chris Nilan/John Kordic? Dave Brown/Craig Berube? I have quite a few in mind but please continue to add to the list and let us know who was number 1! ;) |
Baumgartner & Vukota.
|
Outside of the two you named, Kevin McClelland and Semenko/Mcsorley popped into my head first.
|
I thought Cam Neely provided a nice lefty compliment to Byers/Miller.
McKay-Peluso comes to mind as well. Secord-Fraser in Chicago might fit the bill here as well. Probert and Ryan Vandenbussche on some of those tough Chicago Blackhawk teams from the late 90's/early 00's. Just a few off the top of my head. |
Not the all-time best but for a brief stint…..Willi Plett/Dave Richter

Brashear and Odjick with their brief stint together in Vancouver were pretty good.
Domi and Belak were pretty effective for a long time. |
96 CAPS
SIMON & BERUBE 87 Flyers - take your pick: Brown/Fotiu Brown/Tocchet Brown/Berube |
I wish they played longer together

Some really good choices.

B.Wilson- D.Brown (PHI) for only 2 gms
Wendel Clark - J. Kordic (TOR) O'Reilly- Wensink (BOS) O'Reilly- Jonathan (BOS) JK or Probie- McRae (DET) Nilan - J.Kordic (MTL) B.Wilson or Fraser - Secord ( CHI) |
Only brief but can you imagine having to play Minnesota with the late Derek Boogaard & Chris Simon both dressed. Calgary did one night Simon dropped Vandermeer while Godard & Boogaard had major HW bout.
|
How about Domi/Kocur? Certainly neutralized Baumgartner/Vukota for a couple of years if not edging them in their NYR/NYI series.
|
Brashear and Erskine although both a little long in the tooth was a pretty damn tough combo!
