The 2009 All-Time Golden Oldies Awards
Much like other threads on HF.com, I have put together the following All-Time Awards for specific areas of hockey fights over the years?
Here's what I think, let's hear what you think! ALL-TIME BEST PURE FIGHTER: Behn Wilson Top fighter who would beat anyone in a best of 10 series. ALL-TIME BEST ENFORCER: Dave Brown Top policeman who more than anyone stood up for teamates with most devastating results. ALL-TIME HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: Bob Probert Top fighter who was the best combination of a Fighter, Enforcer and Aggressor. ALL-TIME POUND FOR POUND CHAMPION: Stan Jonathan Top fighter who despite his size best utilized what he had to achieve great results. ALL-TIME MOST INTIMIDATING PLAYER: Nick Fotiu Player whose mere presence on the ice was going concern and often negated aggression by the opposition. ALL-TIME MOST EXCITING FIGHTER: John Kordic Player who win, lose or draw always provided the most entertainment in all his fights. ALL-TIME BIGGEST KO KING: Joey Kocur Player with the most powerful and destructive punch. ALL-TIME MOST IMPROVED FIGHTER: Rob Ray Player who made the most remarkable transformation from an often beaten fighter to a legitament contender. ALL-TIME BIGGEST AGITATOR: Dale Hunter Player who more than any other, got under the skin of his opposition and created kaos in whatever game he was in. ALL-TIME BEST FIGHT: PJ Stock vs Stephen Peat Fight with endless excitement that had you on the seat of your chair with each punch. ALL-TIME BIGGEST PLAYER FEUD: Ulf Samuelson and Cam Neely. Hatred between two players that went far beyond the ice surface of the NHL. ALL-TIME TOUGHEST TEAM: Boston Bruins 1977-1980 Team that featured many heavyweights and complementary willing fighters for support. ALL-TIME BIGGEST TEAM FEUD: Boston Bruins vs Montreal Canadiens. Two teams whose rivalry transcends players and eras. ALL-TIME BEST BENCH CLEARING BRAWL: Philadelphia Flyers vs Vancouver Canucks (Playoffs) A Brawl that exceeded lengths and action without disappointment for excitement.

Very Good Calls.

Linesman was another name for best agitator for sure. The Kordic-Miller fights were a gimme every game the Bruins and Canadiens played. The Nystrom-Bridgeman fight was one of the best I've every seen. Philly and the Kings was a great brawl especially the Bridgeman-Jenson fights and Holmgren-Holt match up. Yes, Terry O'Reilly always provided excitement!
