Guess the fight: AHL Edition

For those of you who have played the NHL version of this game, we bring you the AHL version. The rules are the same. In a nutshell, you choose two players that may fight in any given game, and you get a point. We will keep a running total here so you can keep track of your progress. I will steal Caps05's rules from the NHL game if your still confused. I have just ironed out a contract with Chilly666 to help me with this as well. (Terms were not disclosed)

The rules are quite simple. All you need to do is look at each day's schedule of games and pick a fight matchup that you think will happen (ie, if Wilkes Barres is playing the Hartford, one matchup you could pick would be Deryk Engelland vs. Justin Soryal). If Engelland and Soryal were to fight each other, you would get a point.

If you know you will be away from your computer (vacation, work, family sickness, whatever) and cannot post your picks, feel free to send them to myself or Chilly666 via PM, and we will make sure you're given credit for them if they happen.

You MUST get your picks in before the game you're picking for starts. If a game starts at 7:05 PM, the time on your pick (and/or the edit) must say 7:04 PM or earlier. And don't worry about spelling being correct; I can pretty much figure it out. Except in rare occasions, it's not necessary to post the first name of the fighter. If you decide to change your pick from a 7:05 PM game to a later game, for whatever reason, you may do so, again as long as it's before the 7:05 game starts. IF you change your pick after the deadline, you will not get credit for the point if the fight happens.

For each correct pick you make, you get 1 point.

Basically, whoever gets the most points from correct picks throughout the year wins. There's no prize for winning this game; just bragging rights for next year's game.

There's no need to signup, just be ready to play on October 2nd. Any qualms or questions can be posted here or sent via PM to myself or Chilly.

And I'm sure I didn't do this for the NHL game, but just in case, might want to make the rules say "picks must be in by 7:04 PM EST", just in case someone on the West Coast is playing, such as myself. Especially now that there's a team in the Pacific Time Zone (Abbotsford).

IHL, might want to make one more point, which I just added to the NHL game thread.

If the players you pick fight each other more than once in a game, YOU WILL ONLY GET ONE POINT.

That wasn't meant as a knock on anyone, but I know I wondered that myself last season, so I decided it'd be a good idea to make sure everyone knew it before the season starts.

Guys we can't let Jensen get a big lead because he will end up eating us for breakfast. If you have to, predict the obvious, just to keep up with him!
