1st to score 50

Who was the 1st Detroit Red Wing to score 50 goals in a season?

Hint 1 - He scored 52 goals that season.
Hint 2 - He scored 51 the next season.
Hint 3 - He wore #20.
Hint 4 - He did it in his 3rd season as a wing.

Hints dont help much, but they throw out 2 players.

Mickey was with the Montreal Canadiens before he got traded.

He was traded to Detroit along with Guy Charron and Bill Collins for Frank Mahovlich on January 13, 1971.

Exactly, a very good trade for both teams. The Big M helped Montreal to 2 cups in 1971 and 1973 before jumping to Toronto of the WHA after the 1974 season.
Billy Collins had parts of 4 solid years in Detroit before being dealt to St. Louis late in the 73-74 season.
Guy Charron was a young player who had a solid year with Detroit in 73-74 with 25 goals before being dealt to Kansas City in 74-75 and his career took off!
Redmond had 3 great years with 42, 52, and 51 goals with Detroit before injuring his back badly which ended his career prematurely!
He of course has been a fixture in the motor city for years broadcasting and is the brother of Dick Redmond the defenseman!

Man I love Mickey Redmonds broadcasting. "Bingo Bango". He is one of the broadcasters who actually knows what hes talkin about unlike Gary Thorne who is the biggest douche ever!

I love his calls on all the fights. Its gonna be a sad day for me and the rest of the wings fans when he finnaly hangs up the mic. Mickey is the Best Broadcaster. IMO. He never talks bad about the other team. Never one-sided.
