It's their fans that make the Canucks a hated team !!

They are the rudest most ignorant fans in the NHL , they treat other teams fans real bad at every game , it's not safe to wear a jersey of a visiting team when in Vancouver even too walk the street during the daytime , you just might get mugged ..

I find amusing how Vancouver media and fans seem to think that Canada (and North America for that matter) hate them so much simply because they are a top team in the West.

I love watching Boston, Philly and St. Louis. Being a Leafs fan I dont hate those teams because they are better than mine, its because I enjoy watching them play and HOW they play.

I bought a Vancouver Todd Bertuzzi jersey a year before the Steve Moore incident and I was proud to wear it. A good Canadian team with respectable players.

That jersey has been in the back of my closet for the past 4 years collecting dust.

That goes back to what I said yesterday. This false sense of accomplishment the Canucks and their fans seem to have. I'm not a fan of any team or player for that matter acting like an arrogant prick. However, if you are going to act that way, at least have a valid reason or something to justify being that way. The Canucks are a loser franchise. That may sound harsh but it's true. The same can be said for many other teams and organizations in many other leagues outside the NHL, so I don't mean that as a dig on the Canucks solely. But for a team that has won nothing of significance (and no, a Presidents trophy doesn't count in my books) this attitude is a real turnoff and completely unwarranted.

Any successful team gets hated on. And losing 3 straight years to the eventual cup champions is extremely rare and quite successful. If Vancouver wins the Cup this year (far from out of the question) the hate is going to be hilarious.

A cup this year a cup would be earned with the current roster. Not the right mix of players IMO.

I thought the same thing in 2011 then they made it all the way up 2-0 until that retard Aaron Rome woke up the 'Ruins with his hit on Horton. Anyway it doesn't matter because we won't be seeing Boston in the finals again for quite some time, while the Canucks might still have a chance.

Its too bad there will probably not be a matchup between them this year. It would of been a game I would of watched.

Perfect example right here. There is no "success" when it comes to the Canucks. Consistency during the regular season, especially as of late? Yes. But success? No. At least not by my definition. The hate is for a lot of reasons, "success" not being one of them.

The Canucks won't win the cup this year. I guarantee you that. Feel free to quote me or bring this back up if they do. I'll be more than willing to eat crow.

I'll wear a damn Canucks shirt for the day if they win the cup. I think I have one buried in my closet somewhere (my girlfriend gave me one a long time ago when she was trying to persuade me to adopt the Canucks as my third favorite team). That's how confident I am that they won't!

As far as the discussion regarding success...all I'm going to say is maybe your definition of success varies from mine. Having a winning season or making the playoffs isn't considered "success" in my books. Unless of course the team you root for is so bad that the standard or expectations are so low. I don't think that situation can be applied for the Canucks over the past several seasons.

Also what gets me are the low ball offers rumoured to enforcers. Rumour has jim vandermeer in sight. Wonder what kinda offer hell get? Cam janssen was offered a 2 way - league min , and a few others. Van isnt willing to flip the bill to get proper help.

That just says to me they don't value that type of player, nor do they believe it's necessary to have a tough guy on the roster to win. Needless to say I would very much disagree on both accounts.

For me it's the whining, diving and cheap way Vancouver plays. Montreal west! It's a style I can't stand! Cheap! True, the Canucks have a ton of talent, but I hate their sh*t style! I would love for a rematch; Boston v Vancouver in '13.

I can't argue with people who refuse to acknowledge facts.
