I don't know why this is a big deal all of a sudden. Neil has been doing the "pump up" after fights for years and there's never been a fuss this big. I think it may have to do with the fact that Cherry raised the point. He has briefly mentioned Neil doing it in the past, but never been so upset.

I don't think it's any coincidence that Cherry is all up in arms about this all of a sudden when it happens against the Bruins. And if Cherry had never brought this up, it wouldn't even be making headlines.

A few interesting quotes from the article:

A good point in terms of the momentum argument

And the NHL needs this:

Also great to hear that the Captain and the Coach aren't upset.

Much ado about nothing, if you ask me.

I see nothing wrong with pumping up the crowd after a fight. Its not they were trying to disrespect the Bruins.

Did Neil do that after Lucic tuned him up?
If he did, then fine, otherwise it's more likely disrespectful to an opponent.

Hardly a tune up... and the spear to the nuts to get the jump was cheap.... and funny you should mention that player and being "disrespectful" to an opponent after a fight.

At least Neil will answer the bell.

The spear to the nuts was either in retaliation to Neil's slash or to get Neil to drop the gloves, not to "get the jump" as you'd like us to assume. You might be in ClydeFrog's head, but you're not in Looches, Jack. You don't know what he's thinking. That would be a pretty strange way to attempt to get a jump on someone.

As for the fight, while I would agree that it was closer than some might think. I don't think its totally out of line to say that Lucic tuned Neiler up. He did split Neil in not one, but two places. (next to the eye and above the ear) Look it up.

I only hope that Neil is as pissed about the "cheap" spear by Lucic as you are. We might be in store for a great fight between these two when Looch returns from injury.

i believe after watching a few sens games this year, that's part of Neil's appeal. The guys a pinball, and he's 100% just about all the time. Personally, as long as there not doing like the moonwalk or some stupid NFL endzone dance I see nothing wrong.

AS a matter of fact, yeah Neil did do it after he was "tuned up" by your God Looch.

Funny you should mention Lucic....
Lucic does this all the time as well.
Is he being disrespectful???

Can you say hypocrite? Is that a typical characteristic of a Bruins fan?

Q: Why didn't the NHL award Hamilton a professional hockey franchise?

A: Because then Toronto would want one too.

Problem l have is that Carkner is doing it after really ****ty fights. That Bitz fight was a ****in joke as was the Boulton fight. I wouldn't mind so much if they were good fights. Wonder if Carkner will be doing any of that crap tonight when Walker and Fedoruk send him off the ice on a stretcher.

He's usually the one going off on a stretcher...

As for the issue at hand, i'm not sure where I stand on this yet. To be honest when I was younger I really used to enjoy Domi's antics, however I see now that it was unacceptable at times, although it was entertaining.
I think this is a bit different, why doesn't somebody ask thier opponents?

Ok... for the Ottawa homers... After Neil tuned Lucic up.
Feel better now?

For the record, I respect Neil's consistant and constant energy but I think he's a little cheap at times. I also didn't like when Lucic grandstanded' after he tuned up Komisarek...oh, I'm sorry...After Komi tuned him up.

Neil is a bit cheap. So is Lucic.

Blood does not necessarily = tune up.
