Red Wings Riley Sheahan Arrested While Drunk Wearing Teletubbies Costume

Quote:
GRAND RAPIDS (CBS Detroit) Confusion allegedly ensued when one Detroit Red Wings prospect was arrested under the “super drunk” law wearing a Teletubbies costume — and carrying the identification of a different hockey player.

Grand Rapids police confirmed Tuesday that Riley Sheahan, 20, a player on the Grand Rapids Griffins, was arrested on four separate charges. He was arrested for driving a 2012 Jeep Wrangler the wrong way at about midnight October 29 in downtown Grand Rapids.

Sheahan was wearing a purple Teletubbies costume when he was stopped; police said they weren’t sure what he was wearing underneath.

2 PIMS on the year doesn't help his case either on this site. I'm sure it was a team function and since he's a rookie, he had to wear something. Regardless, he's an idiot for getting trashed and driving period.

Couple things here, shouldn't he also face underage charges too? Or does he get a pass being a Canadian? The other thing, this guy will be chirped for the rest of his career about this haha. I'm sure there will be at least one fan who shows up and does something teletubby related in an opposing arena.

He'll be lucky if his career ever gets to that point where someone would do that

When you "pull over" into the middle of the street, you might have had more than a few.

That video is funny though, oh man is that dude hammered.

Edit: .30 BAC. Holy crap. Just to be able to stand at that level means this kid must drink A LOT. He also had an alcohol related arrest at Notre Dame. Go ahead and scratch "NHL hockey" off of your future resume, douche. Good riddance.

That video will be the crown jewel of his career highlight reel when all is said and done.

Didnt Bob Probert blow a similar figure when he got caught?

Wasn't really accepted back then, definatley not now. A trip to a drying-out clinic might be in order..

why? because he partied? or to save face?

dumb thing to do, especially since you'd assume he was probably out with teammates, why the hell would you even consider driving anywhere in the first place?

The level he blew, and the fact that it isn't his first alcohol-related arrest. Personally, I take the view of 'boys will be boys', however employers take a different tack these days, especially when your employer is a sports team. Hockey alone has had too many issues with players having issues with the booze (and drugs) - John Kordic anyone, and others - to turn a blind eye to things like this nowadays..
