Ranking the NHL's fighters

"If you haven't been stopping by stats man Gabe Desjardins's pad lately, you'd be well-served to do so. He's banging out some good stuff over there.

The latest is a system of ranking fighters, one that comes up with Georges Laraque as the NHL's top heavyweight. Here's the list based on the past three seasons......"

Downey and Lucic make the top 10 which is lame. The other 8 fighters listed in the top 10 are legit.

What a joke, Lucic and Downey ranked ahead of Orr and Godard.

That list sucks balls.

DJ, while I like him, needs to drop. #2 overall? Give me a break. He has been injured more than he has been healthy.

Lucic and Downey need to be off this list entirely. Lucic, while entertaining, doesn't go heavyweight very often...but sure can beat the piss out of Komi.

That list was silly. It obviously didn't penalize fighters for consistently fighting below there weight-class (Lucic). It was spot on with the Tom K assessment though.

Does this guy cite where he gets his win/loss records from? I read it and didn't see anything... I'd be surprised if he went anywhere but here to check something like that.

I don't like his list but at least this appears to be a pro fighting type article. Or at least it isn't anti fighting.

He used here, but I'm not sure on the data set. I'm going to provide him with full numbers just in case.

Remember - it's just a numbers game, nothing more.

If the top doesn't look right, the bottom... well, you decide.
